@omonomono You don't have to treat them that way because you have an established circle so to speak, but that's not the case for some of us, or most of us tbh. "Hey guys maybe don't post people's cards without asking" seems like the point you were making and it's something I agree with fwiw

in Japan P Cards are literally fan-to-fan info transmission. Just like how it's treated at work. in the west we've completely regurgitated the act as P2P gifting. I don't mind it, but it's something to be mindful when you public post your "loot" pic with Pcards in them.

@Oliviazira yeah idk, I wouldn't read too much into the Acen imas concert, because ultimately it's part of Acen and not actually run by BNE.

@omonomono This also tells me that scamco was far more okay with the crowd using whatever light that they had than were with properly stocking based on past numbers. Very lax attitude really considering.then again if they filmed it with almost no crowd lights of the it would of looked worse

Just to close off my im@s at acen. Acen was fun. I’m old head, so just seeing all the familiar faces that are still very much part of the im@s fandom was cool. I mean, I left the eventing community around 2019 to pursue some other interests, but it was just like seeing an old friend again. My feelings should be in the quoted tweet. I think the biggest wow moment was during the Miki showcase, just standing 8th row in the audience where when the intro was playing, it showed a picture of the world, then it spun around to show the US, then the words: “Chicago, United States” appeared in big fat letters on the screen. I just remember standing there dumbfounded just like, “Is this real?” And then my whole being was completely unprepared to see a 3D Miki Hoshii dancing on stage. I was just waving my penlight during the first song in awe just in a state of, “What’s even happening right now?” Like during my heyday in the idolmaster fandom while I was still living in the Chicagoland area years ago, I would just be visiting @/MoustacheMoe’s apartment bringing over blu-ray recordings of idolmaster lives while trying to convince him to watch CG/ML and learn calls. There were only a small handful active im@s fans in Chicago, so just going from that then to seeing this happen now is completely insane to me. TBH, I wasn’t going to go to Acen this year because of changed interests. I wasn’t really joking when I was telling fans at acen that the reason I was there was because Sujay literally tweeted at me ‘come back to im@s’ since I think he just sees me run around the vtubing world, but I’m glad I went. The work he does is absolutely admirable. Going from just knowing him before as a normal anime fan to what he does now is a crazy life choice that’s driven purely by passion. I really admire it. He and everyone involved cooked, and all of it was delivered on a silver platter this convention. After this con, I really felt like there’s a lot of momentum for im@s to take off in the English sphere. Or maybe it feels like there’s just a general hunger for these types of idol lives that has been dormant in North America? At the fan party, there’s were so many young new faces I’ve never seen before that are omega passionate about idolmaster. Who knows if they’ll capitalize on it, or what will happen. But if there’s more events in the future, no reason for me not to show up. That was a lot of fun.
