It’s equal parts store and art installation, featuring local artists and leaning into LA’s grunge / skater subculture.
They also have an in-store cafe which serves Sidecar Donuts. 10/10 experience!

@iiiitsandrea Exactly! In the case of David: people want a high protein-to-calorie ratio. Tummy grumbles or not. I don’t think they’re positioned as “healthy snacks” per se.
What’s concerning for David would be recent reports showing their macros may be misleading.

Since the release of @david_protein bars , I've been critical of the fake fat in their formulation (EPG) that causes "gas with discharge" in clinical studies. Don't fall for this garbage. We've known @drink_AG1 contains significant heavy metals for years. @huel also looks very bad. Proud to say that both @heartandsoilHQ and @eatlineage test everything they make for over 300 heavy metals, contaminants, etc.. No foods or supplements are perfect, but know what you are buying.

I’ve have stayed in concepts like this and they are always kinda horrible. When optimized for cost, you lose all semblance of hospitality.
Only a human can help with a real world problem at 2AM.
Bare minimum for me is the CitizenM model: largely self-serve but there are also humans to help.

@michaelmiraflor @mlitman Their common areas are positioned as being spacious, comfy-cozy third spaces since the rooms are tiny capsules.
The lobbies are great spaces to work from or hang out if you live locally; seemed like a community spot when I stayed at one in Seattle.

Last day of the $7500 federal EV tax credit. The one that has made leasing EVs pretty cheap over the past few years.
It'll be interesting to see what happens from here on out, since demand was pulled up in anticipation of the cutoff. Will demand fall off a cliff? Will pricing adjust, and how soon? Real short and long term consequences for the auto industry.

i don’t think anyone asked for a thinner iphone, but yesterday we got one. my take is apple is training their suppliers by going thinner. get foxconn to master thinner batteries, smaller parts, tighter tolerances so when they launch AR glasses, the ecosystem already knows how to make it at scale. the world's thinnest iphone was for suppliers, not us. sometimes you ship a product to prepare your ecosystem for the bet you actually care about tomorrow.

Prediction: iPhone 17 Air is going to do well, to the extent that it will likely cannibalize iPhone 17 Pro sales. The “thin” value prop is the strongest in many years, and most iPhone Pro users buy one but do not leverage Pro features - they buy it because it’s the “best” (and for the 3 camera signaling power), but both of those things will be redefined: “best” will be redefined by “thin,” a form factor which will have signaling power on its own and negate the lack of additional camera lenses.
The cannibalization of Pro sales will be offset by volume of the Air model. I think the thin form factor value prop will be the strongest for those who have not upgraded in recent years. Apple is going to move a ton of them imho.

In 2018, Nerds candy did $50m in sales. It will to do ~$900m in 2025, an increase of 1,700x and has overtaken Skittles as the market’s top sugar candy. The gains came after Italian confectionary giant Ferrera acquired Nestle USA’s candy arm for $3B (it owned Nerd, Butterfinger and Baby Ruth). Ferrara was home to real-life Willy Wonka who invented Ferrero Rocher, Tic Tic and Kinder Surprise.
