I bought this book like 4 years ago and I hate it, it's so overrated It's too high-level for actually implementing anything Probably it's good if you're a PM and want to expand your breadth of knowledge I don't think it's actually good for engineers

@JustSteveKing I use I like a sounding board and to get me unstuck. Double check architectural decisions. Critique my software design - what concerns might I have missed etc.

@JustSteveKing Claude for coding marginally over GPT imo. The projects feature is good. You put all your project docs in there and when you start a new chat it has all that context.

So I was going to pay for an AI product, like ChatGPT or Claude etc. As a developer which one do you recommend? Which should I invest my time into? I have a free copilot account, so looking for others

@HedgeDirty Kind of depends on the type of work too. Taking phone calls and meeting with potential clients if you own a business or are in sales is easy to knock out 40-50 hours cause it’s casual work. 40-50 hours doing tedious computer work is brutal in my opinion having been in both seats

I think there's a massive unexplored gap between people who think "work-life balance" means working 50 hrs/wk instead of 60 and people who think it means working 28 hrs/wk instead of 35
