All Things Must Pass is one of the most overrated albums of all time. Not because it's crap, it isn't, it's good. But it's not what people often use it as - proof that Harrison was a better songwriter than Lennon and McCartney.

@dsonoiki Dylan is the purest distillation of the concept of a songwriter. That’s what he does, we writes songs. Not poetry, not hit records, songs. Simon is a craftsman. He crafts great things, often amazing songs tailored for an adult popular taste. Dylan just cares about the songs.

Why does Bob Dylan occupy a higher cultural tier than Paul Simon? They are at worst, the same level songwriter, and Simon can actually sing Simon’s career also spans Simon & Garfunkel AND his solo work Simon also makes more global music (South Africa / Brazil influences)
