@GabrielEpsteinX i just love watching people in the US clamoring for decreased civil liberties in israel.
Feels so Orwellian and mid 20th century Germany simultaneously.

Katz banning administrative detention for Israels: timesofisrael.com/defense-minist…
Katz ordering released of remaining Israelis under administrative detention orders: timesofisrael.com/katz-says-sett…
English

If Amit Segal is talking about reinstating administrative detention for Jewish extremists in the West Bank, it is likely under discussion in the Prime Minister's Office. Defense Minister Katz banned the use of administrative detention on Israelis (which was relatively rare) in November 2024, and released the remaining Israelis in administrative detention in January 2025 in a political move paired with releases of terrorists as part of the second Israel-Hamas ceasefire.
Both moves were opposed by the security services for obvious reasons, and reversing them only gets back to an already unacceptable status quo that failed to prevent Jewish extremist attacks.
Restoring administrative detention as a tool to disrupt campaigns of Jewish extremist violence would be an important move despite civil-rights concerns. But unless paired with a serious law enforcement paradigm shift--meaning a changed military-police-judicial policy that consistently investigates attacks, prosecutes offenders, and actively and quickly removes illegal outposts and farms from which violence is emanating--it would have a limited effect.
A shifted whole-of-system approach is required, and the U.S. should demand nothing less. As with any terrorism, no half-measures.

I solved the Settler Violence issue!!
STOP HARMING JEWS

JUDEA & SAMARIA
While the Sherman family is sitting shiva for their son, Yehuda Hy”d, who was murdered last Shabbat in a murderous car-ramming terror attack near Homesh, it appears that some people are living in a parallel universe.
In the “ivory tower” on Mount Scopus, members of the Senate of the Hebrew University decided that the time had come for an “urgent meeting.” But make no mistake — this is not a meeting in memory of the murdered boy, nor is it a condemnation of the Arab terrorism that cut short the life of a teenager.
As far as these detached professors are concerned, the real enemy is the settlers.

@GOPIsrael the world can handle rabid jihadists raping or murdering or beheading
the world can not handle religious Jews fighting back against jihadists
the first gets a yawn
the second gets an emergency meeting and a stern warning from Marco Rubio
English

@elevin11 @AynReagan lol. "jews are tired of being slaughtered and taking initiative! eeeeeek. make it stop!" lol.
NO.
English

@AynReagan I respectfully disagree. Immoral or illiberal behaviors make it harder for the US to support Israel, which to a degree is fair. And he's not saying anything that most Israelis don't already agree with.
English

Kahane said that with autonomy comes self-respect. And in this case self-respect means telling Rubio to shove it up his ass. Other than the Jewish State which country gets these insufferable lectures? You care about violence? Let's talk about Baltimore.

@MadlerDO @AynReagan lol. "jews are tired of being slaughtered and taking initiative! eeeeeek. make it stop!" lol.
NO.
English

@AynReagan Forget Rubio or any American politician. Israel is a nation of laws and they must be upheld! It’s the rest of Israel that will not tolerate this and shouldn’t!
English

@elevin11 @AynReagan your western viewpoints and frameworks dont hold up out here in the Shomron.
sorry.
we are dealing with a rabid murderous death cult and lecturing Jews not to respond was attempted and failed for 2,000 years and that time is over.
English

I empathize with that position. Folks who have felt wronged by their enemies and abandoned by their allies understandably will harbor resentment and hold much stronger views especially re: security.
I think these positions are destructive, even if I can't blame those on the front lines that don't care about such principles and ideals and visions of the long-term health of society.
Still, I will criticize anybody who violates the law, or advocates for violations of the law, even my own kin. And I would like to think that most Jews and Israelis and allies, even if we have empathy for settlers, we still know there's some line (undefined and not necessarily one we all agree upon) that we should not be supportive of them crossing. Otherwise, those lines just keep getting crossed further and further, taking us all to a really bad place.
FWIW, this is the flip side of the coin of my mission to restore our universal moral TABOOS against overt hateful bigotry in the West. The more we allow this hate to normalize, the more we guarantee it will spiral into violence and anarchy.
English

@Brimtuckian @TimesofIsrael you have zero clue what youre talking about stereotypical jew hater.
you hate jews because you hate God.
English

@TimesofIsrael You mean illegal settlers. They are all illegal and should be dealt with like the vermin they are.

Settlers attack several Palestinian villages, 2 reported injured; no arrests made timesofisrael.com/settlers-attac…
English

@TimesofIsrael The world HATES when Jews defend themselves.
Times of Israel FAILS to mention WHY the settlers sent a message in the ONLY language the jihadits understand...
English

Don’t call it terrorism; call it jihad. Terrorism is a method, and you don’t describe a group by the method it uses.

@ShaisTaub I have no inspirational stuff, and find no reason to believe that the Seder is about inspiration.
We may be inspired, but that is a byproduct, not the purpose or the focus.
In fact, searching for inspiration is a recipe for failure.
English

@bettypge69 @JonahPlatt sickos that want peace. and that are tired of their children being murdered. koolaid drinking cult zombies intent on raising a family. lets be honest
English

@JonahPlatt They are screwed up cult! Let’s be honest.
English

I have no problem condemning Israeli settler violence & neither should anyone else. That these terrorizing criminals happen to be Israeli (though they actually reject the state) or Jewish does not make them any more defensible to me than an American criminal or Jewish criminal would be anywhere else.
Extremist violence is bad anywhere and everywhere no matter who commits it.
Those who enable or ignore extremism need to be held accountable, no matter who or where they are.
English

look! a virtue vulture!
you can spot him from his virtuous plumage and inability to mention the 18 year old Jewish boy that was murdered or his brother who is struggling to cling to life after a jihadist terrorist attack.
keep circling looking for more jewish corpses Virtue Vulture. sadly, youll have plenty of excuses to condemn Jews that defend themselves from terrorists.
English

. @arcadia1853 why are you permitting terrorists to teach violence on your campus?
@StopAntisemites
@LeoTerrellDOJ

English

yeah. and He wanted us to spread out to the four corners of the earth so that they would all come in contact with us - and maybe they could receive a grade on how well they treated us.
up until very recently, the US and Canada and Australia were getting A's. the UK had recovered from their horrendous treatment when they threw us out and was getting an A until recently
sadly, some will see on-going declining grades and, yet again, the Jews will be forced to flee.
English

ok. last chance since youre not getting it but still trying...
the Jews are part of the fabric of reality. sorry, but its true.
no other people have lived with miracles and claimed mass revelation and have lived without a land for thousands of years amongst all the other nations. no other people has been put through so much and come back to form a new nation exactly where they started thousands of years ago when the prophets said: "You will be dispersed to the four corners of the earth and then I will bring you home."
the prophets claimed over 2,500 years ago that Jews would live on the hills of the Shomron and plant vinyards. that is, as of today, verifiably true. (I can send you a picture of the grapes growing on my property on a hill in the Shomron.)
look, i get that it makes zero sense if you aren't obsessed with Jews. it barely makes sense to the most observant Jews that study the Torah every day their entire lives.
you have to take it from me, a random jew on X, that there is much, more going on with the Jews than would be possible in a purely rational world.
English

@OnlyGB It doesn't make sense for rational people to engage with religious fanatics belonging to a cult.
The biggest and most dangerous lie of the last 5000 years is that an almighty God would choose a people. There is not and never has been a "chosen people".
English

@Nomad_95Bin248 "just about everybody else" after mentioning Islam,
Christians and Atheists or 75% of the world...
English

@OnlyGB Agreed.
Best living Evidence that the Judaic Version of the Almighty is true.
And unpleasant finger in the eye of Islam, Atheism and Christianity.
Just about everybody else doesn't care.
English

partially that.
but lets be honest: roman legions, crusader knights, spanish inquisitors, cossacks, automated third reich germans wearing Hugo Boss designed uniforms... and the glorious redemption arc where the UN votes in Israel and the war of indepence is won by the holocaust survivors?
Sooo much more drama than a bunch of lame keyboard warriors, jihadist lunatics and lone wolf losers.
The big movie is over and the Jews win.
The sequel sucks and the occasional "good scenes" (Mossad blows the hands and crotches off Hezbullah with pagers) just feels gimicky and cheap compared to the original.
English

@OnlyGB Maybe it's boring now because you guys are militarily and in other ways the strongest country in the region and one of th strongest in the world, but always at riosk I guess.
