@nicbarkeragain @2BitSalute zed has been my favorite for working with C! i manually create a “compile_commands.json” for the project and then clangd just works.

@2BitSalute At the moment it’s an IDE with decent intellisense, I’ve found both visual studio and clion to be fragile, unreliable resource hogs in that sense 🥲 even just a high performance c language server that I could use with something like sublime text would be awesome

I have a feeling there's a huge opportunity for people to build simple, high performance tooling for writing modern C - almost 100% of the tools I've seen are designed for C++ with C as an afterthought, which I suspect balloons the complexity by at least 10x, if not more.

It does make me feel better to learn that the folks writing stuff like this are often senior engineers at places like Pixar or DNEG. VFX engineers are built different. shadertoy.com/view/lfscD7

@Dazlog @Polyducks love this! this got me thinking, could `image-rendering: pixelated` make the unscaled gif work at all sizes? also, maybe the static face could be an image, and just the eyes could be a small two frame gifs placed on top!

@Polyducks Exactly! While there isn't a big difference between svg and gif per se in file size, with gif I'd need two images (including one upscaled 2x version) to display correctly on retina displays, while svg just requires one (and even works while zooming).
