@richmarin1985ce @VitoComedy So a deck with a finite synergy loop cannot be declared a combo? If I have a way to arbitrarily untap a creature, and that creature draws, that isn't a combo because it can't be done infinitely, as my deck is finite? Why even call it an "infinite combo" then? Seems redundant.

@Mathgeek007 @VitoComedy Not true. You can force a draw with two Oblivion Rings because it creates an uninterruptable loop of triggers. Best combo in the game.

@richmarin1985ce @VitoComedy This is the case for virtually every "infinite combo" that advances the game state in nearly any meaningful way except, I believe exactly: 1. Token creation 2. Lifegain

@VitoComedy It's technically finite because it relies on a repeatable action that can only be repeated up to the point of a specific game state check.

If this is what people think then they don't actually know me. I've been very vocal about what I don't like about UB. My critiques just go a little deeper than "IP BAD >:(". I've stated before that reprints are a big problem for UB sets as well as the number of legendary creatures making limited a little clunky at times. I couldn't care less about the actual IP of Star Trek but if it brings us well designed cards then I'll play them. This is because the thing that drew me to MTG was actually playing MTG, these are game pieces. If I wanted to roleplay as a wizard I'd go play DND. Above all I think we miss the fact of just how many new players have joined the magical gathering because of UB who would have never touched the game otherwise and for that I think we can all be a little grateful. @UsagiKaede1 @TelfenTCG I have to interface with my opponents, I can't always control the cards my opponents put in their decks, which means I'm playing with those cards. Further, you are fully gatekept out of many formats - I cannot play my FNM Standard without including UB in my deck if I want to win.
