veganism is not inherently a morally superior position. the vegetables and fruits you consume are also harvested via immense cruelty & exploitation, not to even mention indigenous practices or food deserts. if you care about animals, the position to take is anti-capitalism.

Carnists in the west do not love animals. They love the taste and trivial pleasure these animals give them, but they do not love animals as beings.

@blinklisoojense @lordellea You do realise 80% of soy-crop is fed to livestock? - any complaints you have about crop farming is more of a criticism of animal agriculture as it’s much more energy efficient to eat calorie directly from the crop than from an animal like a cow with an energy efficiency of 1.9%

You are a European who lives in France. You can be Vegan. Study show that becoming vegan is the biggest way to lower your carbon footprint. So she potentially does have a lower carbon footprint, than less rich meat eaters.

Veganism is misrepresented as some rich white thing when most aren't rich. When you look at all these rich people, they're eating expensive steaks, wearing fur from animals, wearing leather from animals that are considered more exotic. It's seen as high fashion which people like.
