Last Tuesday, when the Gaudreaus were invited to the Olympics, they declined.
This was Johnny's dream. It felt bittersweet.
But by Wednesday, everything changed.

.@ChrisKindaReads is doing more for literature than almost anyone else I can think of right now.
Paul Anleitner@PaulAnleitner
The online trend of young men reading classic works of literature and posting about it continues. @ChrisKindaReads was the first I saw do it, but it is spreading. Don’t blackpill on the next generation.

💔 Forrest Gump — the moment Jenny introduces Forrest to his son
This scene is quiet, simple, and absolutely devastating. Forrest’s first reaction isn’t joy or shock — it’s fear. He asks if his son is smart, because all he’s ever known is being told he wasn’t. In just a few lines, the movie hits on love, insecurity, and generational healing. It’s one of the most human moments in cinema — proof that sometimes the strongest scenes don’t need speeches, just honesty.

The movie Unbroken is based on the almost unbelievable true story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner turned World War II bombardier who survived a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean, drifted on a raft for 47 days, fought off sharks, endured near-starvation, and then spent over two years being brutally beaten and tortured as a prisoner of war in Japan. Despite all of this, he lived to be 97 years old and even forgave his captors later in life. Angelina Jolie directed the film, and it was so emotionally intense that some of the actors lost weight to look more authentic during the POW scenes. The resilience Louis showed was so legendary that the Japanese guards nicknamed him “The Immortal.”
