Homelander represents a general architype of a man who yearns for the love and approval of others, but has no real understanding of society or how to even love himself. He was taught to believe power is the only value people should care about, and his narcissism pushes him towards a goal that he can never truly reach. You saw Trump cause you believe he shares those qualities.

The Boys is another example of the Hollywood left trying to villainize the right and make them look awful. Similar to what they attempted with the Starship Troopers movie. They have increasingly tried to make Homelander into Trump, with him flipping out over memes, comparing himself to Caesar, etc. Where they failed is that everyone still likes him. Regardless of what he does, he still has fans. I know it drives the producers insane. It's little things like that, that make me happy.

@davepl1968 I don’t know about that stat. I remember watching it live in my classroom. Pretty sure my teachers didn’t put the challenger explosion on replay for us. Almost any person in grades 3-12 watched it live. There was a teacher on board.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@evornithology I would love to see little feral cat zoos all over the place. Catch them, sterilize them, and keep them in enclosed cat habitats where they can’t do any damage. And make it illegal to let pet cats roam free like it is with dogs.

@FinancialPhys Yeah I’m a yankee and all of that is happening here too. Hideous modern farmhouses next to actual historic farmhouses. I live in a high density neighborhood in a little ranch house and the house next door just got flipped and sold for $800k. It’s happening everywhere.

Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.
