My Message to Artists in Vtubing💕 First off, Let me say that I am thankful for what artists have done for the vtuber industry. I’m thankful for their hard work, dedication and overall creativity they share with us to bring us to life. What I want to highlight is the overall exhaustion I’m seeing in the space regarding vtuber experiences with artists not communicating, taking several more months or even years to complete commissions, and the lack of transparency when coming to a commission. This is what I’m seeing with other vtubers and myself. Most of us are working individuals that do everything we can to purchase/commission artists to enrich our vtuber ocs and stories. We don’t have constant people doing fan art of us or have the funds to continuously commission. So when we reach out and want an artist to work on a project, it’s like we are choosing you to rely on to bring something we’re passionate about to life. With all due respect, in the end it’s a professional interaction. Placing a commission isn’t just a request, it’s an order someone has made with a business. Let me put it in perspective…if you were to order something from a business and didn’t receive it by the deadline put in place, didn’t receive a refund, didn’t have any communication regarding the matter, they just ghosted…that could lead to that customer very upset and even possibly lead to action. This isn’t different in the vtubing space. I shouldn’t have to worry that someone I’m paying $500 for a commission isn’t going to deliver or delivers past the deadline I needed it for. I shouldn’t have to stress with everything else I’m going through irl to wonder if I just made a mistake with an artist and then have to find another to cover the other artist’s project. I literally had to do this multiple times in prep for my debut; an event that’s supposed to be fun and exciting turn stressful and frustrating. Many people are afraid to come forward and speak with their artist in fear of seeming overwhelming or rude. With how many people are too comfortable with just doing a google doc (twitlonger back in the day) instead of communicating with the customer is so prevalent that honestly I don’t blame people. Even if they are in the wrong, we’ve seen the damage and overall mental health attack it can have on some; I’m saying this for both a creator and artist perspective. All we want is clarification, communication. We understand life hits hard. You are human, many of you have other jobs, family to support, etc. Your health and safety comes first but we need to know. Having a commission go from 5 - 15 days timeline to a freaking yr and a half is not it. Ghosting isn’t the answer. Lying isn’t the answer. Most of us are nice people that can understand complications come up so talk to us. Let me tell you something most people didn’t know. On my original debut day of Jan 24th, I was going to debut then graduate. I was so tired. I was so emotionally drained by all the issues I was having in preparing while dealing with the loss of my grandfather that the 24th was going to be the end for me with vtubing. However when I ended up in the hospital and my pc in repair, I took it as a restart; an opportunity to be passionate again. Artists, we understand your passion. You are not much different than us. We just wanna create so please know we know what it feels like when things hit hard or become difficult. Just trust us in understanding. Give us a chance to show we can be kind and patient. Alright, my yapping is done. Just want people who are going through what I have to know you’re not alone. And also a shoutout to all the amazing artists that I’ve worked with that truly understand and have really made me keep hope in this. 💜💜

@opaliora yeah at some point i just gave up. They keep the money i usually dont mind but just never go back to them even if the art looks good

@opaliora Legit just posted about this today. Reach out and ask for updates, if none are given then you may have to move to the next step of requesting for a refund especially if this is past the timeframe you both agreed on.
