After 3 years of "just one more analysis", happy to share our preprint! Building on previous post-mortem findings of non-vascular WMHs, we identified a specific signature of neurodegenerative WMHs in vivo using microstructural MRI and normative modeling doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…

We recently published a paper in PNAS, showing microstructural changes to the hippocampus in aging and presymptomatic Alzheimer's disease - in humans, in vivo. We continue to show the value of structural MRI beyond just measuring large-scale atrophy! ow.ly/1NvV50XkXnX

CIHR funding rate: 13.6%. Early 2000s: 30%+. Canada’s new $1.7B Impact+ program recruits talent — but without increased Tri-Council base funding, we risk further strain on an already stretched system. We’re calling for $1B over 5 years. Support here: tinyurl.com/33c5av46

ADPD! I'm excited to present the complete story of my WMH research: "Uncovering spatial pathophysiological patterns of white matter hyperintensities of neurodegenerative origins", including a cool new tractography analysis! Tue April 1st, Hall A, 12:45 #ADPD @adpdnet

New paper led by @AurelieBussy now out in Neurobiology of ageing. We use non-negative matrix decomposition using morphological and qMRI measures (T1, T2*) to understand the relationship between GM and microstructure in the Alzheimer's spectrum. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

It’s out! 🎉 Check our paper “Disentangling the effect of sex from brain size on brain organization and cognitive functioning” 🧠, where we explored sex differences in the brain while removing the effect of brain size differences. 1/10

Delighted to see this work, led by Matt Danyluik, out in @ImagingNeurosci Excellent technical piece on the caveats of methods for performing inference using PLS. A great piece of work for those using the technique and those who are interested in its robustness and reliability

TLDR: When age-matching pre- and post-menopausal women in UK Biobank, we don't find an effect of elevated WMHs after menopause! Hopefully this brings nuance to the field and motivates the acquisition of data purposefully designed to investigate women's health in aging

Really excited to share this preprint. Born from the hard work of visiting student Denise Wezel (Frei U. Amsterdam) and @oparent41, we examine the relationship white matter hyper intensities (ie neurovascular pathology) and the menopause transiton. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

5 years ago, on the heels of 28andMe, our team designed a new precision imaging experiment: scanning an individual’s brain throughout her entire pregnancy. We are excited to share that these findings are out today in @NatureNeuro! nature.com/articles/s4159…
