What would you be most excited for on OpenLibrary.org? 1. Community Tags (like Archive of Our Own) 2. The ability to nominate Best Books on any topic 3. Following other readers 4. On-the-fly book translations 5. Better collections 6. Other?

Next week we plan to release a quality of service upgrade to our /search.json API which should drop load size in some cases from 500kb to 15kb. This may result in a breaking change for some clients. Learn how to update your application here: blog.openlibrary.org/2025/01/16/api…

@kajong We'll investigate whether the pages may be available and simply need to be re-derived, or if a new edition may need to be obtained for digitization. Retrieving and re-digitizing individual books from the physical archive isn't the simplest process!

@openlibrary hi there, your report a problem form isn't working so I'm tweeting you instead. There are 20 odd pages missing from the book "weight loss from the inside out" by Marion Bilich; the first page begins at p.29. Grateful if you'd look into this. Thanks.

Look, libraries have 1⃣ job: invest their resources to serve the underserved public. When conditions are hardest, that's when it's *most* important to do our jobs well. We're not perfect, but we are working as hard as we can, with what we have, to restore services for everyone.
