A member of the Sturgeon squad is saying that only SNP members have an interest here. But when a number of brave, decent ex-SNP NEC members were pushed out of politics, in part over this, and Kirsten Oswald, on the pushing side, is a government minister, it's everyone's business.

@overlandertheb1 @LucyHunterB 40W bulbs. The best boss I ever had used to insist that we only recruited people with high intellectual horsepower. Standards.

@LucyHunterB @seedsgirl Plus - I know a very large number of people who resigned after donating and supporting. Mainly for the lack of respect for basic science but also for the lack of integrity.

We're in a grim place right now. Folk are alternately trying to brazen it out, claim victimhood, or express deep regrets. All while the question hangs heavy: why are there not more prosecutions? Why has no-one else resigned? Why are we entertaining the wrong questions?

@serialsockthief They are lovely. I don't have one because I'm left-handed and smudge ink but I have writer friends who have them and enjoy them. How does the price compare to, I dunno... Old Firm season tickets? Sky sports subscription? Dinner at a restaurant for two? Big brand trainers?

How good can a pen be? Seriously, how much of a difference can there possibly be between writing with a cheap pen and writing with a Mont Blanc? 🤔 I need to try one sometime and find out. I knew they were expensive but I didn’t realise just how expensive.

And they become offended when you describe it as stealing.
jpak1888@JpakBioMed

@CllrSMcCabe People don’t usually steal due to necessity, they steal because they’re greedy, and because there is an opportunity.

@RosaZambonini @Humanistforindy You're right to ask. Lots of supposedly smart people have been deceived or almost deceived. That's why governance rules are embedded in law. I always ask "what happens when someone outside the gang asks an uncomfortable question?" I don't know the answer here but I'd like to.

@slinkiwitchx @Neilsocialist Trusting accountants, lawyers or any other advisors won't protect you in law from wrongdoing. They're simply Accountability Sinks.

@Neilsocialist Neil, I know absolutely feck all about my partner's finances. I also know from years of third sector experience that accounts are often signed off trusting that the auditors and treasurer have done their job . she was cleared of wrongdoing in the investigation.

Will the Scottish press pack now step up and properly scrutinise Nicola Sturgeon’s role in managing the party’s finances and her own household finances ?

@Neilsocialist @Mark1957 Her household finances are nobody's business. The governance of @theSNP is certainly the business of everyone who has been a member and/or contributed time or money to them. Tone at the top should be understood by all party officials.

Thatcher understood that a nation must live within its means, just like a household. She’s never been forgiven for it.

@DalgetySusan All excellent machines. If I had a spare £7.4m to throw around I'd probably buy one. But I don't and that's utterly bizarre.
