Why Modular Design is the Future of AI Infrastructure AI systems are evolving quickly, but many are still built on foundations that can’t keep up. Rigid architectures, tightly coupled logic, and hard-coded dependencies make most AI workflows inflexible and difficult to maintain. What looks impressive in a demo often breaks when moved into real-world use. That’s where modular design comes in. Modular infrastructure gives developers the ability to build AI systems using smaller, interchangeable parts. Each module solves a focused problem and can be plugged into larger workflows without rewriting everything from scratch. It’s the same principle that makes microservices powerful in software development, now applied to AI tooling and actions. This shift has two big advantages.
