The last 15 days have been the worst period of my life and for my family. I had never experienced a loss like this before. It has changed all of us in ways I never imagined. I know I’ll carry these regrets for the rest of my life wondering what if I had said a little more, argued a little less, or simply spent more time with him. Life is unbelievably short. Never take your loved ones for granted, because you never know when the last conversation, the last hug, or the last time you see them will be. I had so many things left to experience together, so many moments we never got to live. Now, all of those dreams feel shattered. I keep asking myself if I was a good brother. I don’t think I was, and that’s the part that hurts the most because now I’ll never get the chance to make it right.
