@Summer_Stinson @orcacard Carry ORCA card (w pass) separate from wallet. Wallet has 3 e-purse ORCA‘s & any ORCA reader immediately explodes if I try to scan my wallet. Extra cards are if I’m taking #transit w people (remember that?!) who don’t have cards, or someone gets on w/o fare, ends up needing help.

@seattlebuschick I always get on reeeaaalllly slowly if I see someone running. Similarly when @SoundTransit goon squad‘s checking fares, I reaallllyyybslowly try to find my @orcacard, 1st pulling out one I didn’t use... to make sure that those who didn’t pay have a chance to get off @ next stop.

We absolutely need to maintain our eleventy seventeen different “local” #transit agencies w different but overlapping plans & fundings while we all fight over how any change to @orcacard should be made or even not made. That’s totally better for everyone. Because reasons.

Just fare enforced on @SoundTransit Link. Young WoC given warning cause she seemed to not successfully tap off, then when tapping on later, it tapped off. How about we give ST warning about how this system is error prone, confusing and can easily trap people in financial cuffs?

@severuduw @SoundTransit Even if you tap out, sometimes it doesn't work. You really must pay attention, do it slowly, block people behind you so you can read what screen on @orcacard reader says...
It's a system designed to fail a measurable amount of the time. But at least we got cops to enforce it.

@SeattleDOTr @MikeKatell The bigger problem, IMO, is that the newer city dwellers with the money displacing the poor don't really want the poors coming to the city for any reason.
Parking for the poor and transit from free P&Rs for the poor are both unacceptable under this regime.
