@toast_science @zanehkoch 40-50 years of exposure in humans, vs a handful of years in rats... might not be the best apples-to-apples.
English

@zanehkoch Lab rats often die of chronic kidney disease. The radiation appears to have reduced this, hence the longer lives. Not that transferable to humans though, given the longevity boost probably doesn't apply to us but the cancer risk might. Please don't irradiate yourselves.

@Jack_Raines Outside of small pockets in the Bay Area, where "Stanford" matters a lot, I don't think pedigree matters that much out West. Matters a lot on the East Coast though. When I'd visit our Boston office the pedigree-digging stuff came up all the time.
English

As a dude from South GA who has spent the last ~3.5 years in NYC / SF, this is very much a thing.
If you don’t “grow up” in the northeast/west coast status games there’s a good chance you won’t know they exist / how pervasive they are through your career til college.

i think its really interesting how much men attempt to shame me for choosing college of charleston when i say i was in the top 5 in my class (i got a 4.0 in my major of CS). i came from a pretty poor family and didn't even know i couldve been a candidate for a top tier college. i chose to stay in state to receive my full ride scholarship there. what i did was very impressive and im not ashamed

@Justin_Albers You're not wrong, but you're not right either. The NFL cares deeply about traits (things you can't coach). Moore has these, and has shown enough precision to be seen as having high NFL potential. Is he anywhere near as good as Mendoza right now? No way! He's too young. Needs time
English

Curt Cignetti and Indiana cost Dante Moore so much money. There is no way he's a top 3 QB in the 2027 Draft. This was his year. Because I'll be honest ... I could be wrong, but I don't see what others seem to see in Moore. As a fan rooting against him, there wasn't a single moment where I was afraid of him. What am I missing?
In 3 CFP games, he has 6 passing TDs (one complete garbage time TD in the Indiana blowout loss) and 4 INTs ... including a pick 6 on the first play of his biggest game and TWO against JMU. He had -35 yards rushing in those 3 games combined.
Against the good defenses he played this year (Indiana (2), Iowa, Texas Tech), he had 3 TDs and 5 INTs. Sorry, but I'm not seeing anything special about the kid -- he's just decent. And in the biggest moments, the team often won in spite of the offense (Iowa, TTU).
QBs have always developed under Dan Lanning ... and in my opinion, Moore is the worst of the most recent 3 (Nix, Gabriel). Yes, I've seen the Chase Daniel film breakdown, and wasn't impressed. Daniel was a career backup, and honestly, I see that for Moore.
The fact that Moore was even mentioned in the same sentence as Mendoza was incredibly disrespectful. Moore couldn't carry Mendoza's jock strap.
Moore will get paid next year at Oregon, and maybe Lanning can turn him into something actually special with another year, but I honestly do not understand the hype around him. He turns it over, he shrinks in big moments ... put simply: Dante Moore is wildly overrated.

@ant_smith7 @FB_FilmAnalysis Duck fan here and I agree. I think Ohio State would kill us, and Miami would beat us by 3-7.
English

@iowahawkblog Where's Oregon? One of the youngest teams and in final-4. Makes no sense

@tomboysammy2 @3xOptionShow It's ridiculous. They just lost to Indiana (still in it, likely to champ game), and then lost to Miami (still in it, likely to champ game). I hate when players say this stuff... like bro, if you were the better team, you had 60 minutes to 'turn it around' and you didnt.
English

@3xOptionShow But you didn’t and that’s all that matters #GoCanes
English

Caleb Downs agrees that Ohio State would have beaten Miami 9 out of 10 times.
Do you agree?

@GoDucksnet @craigstolarczyk I agree. The offense needs to play to it's potential to win. It's a very 'young' team though, hence why it always feels like they leave meat on the bone.
English

@craigstolarczyk correct
we have an excellent Defense and have been very good on special teams
we're simply more talented than most teams
we're playing Indiana, the team we lost to. If we don't play better on offense, we'll lose... which was my point
English

@MattGlenesk Indiana has to. They have a very senior roster. Oregon is a very young team. I expect them to add a few but their 'need' is much smaller.
English

@CFBwSam I'm an Oregon alum and big Duck fan, but it will be a medium'ish upset if we win. Why? We are a very young team. Indiana is a very old and experienced team. I think that matters a lot especially at the end of the year -- so much more experience and practice and game-knowledge.
English

I'm concerned about my pick here, as there are people I respect that are on Oregon, but I am decently confident that I know which team is better.
College Football with Sam@CFBwSam
I, personally, am on Indiana, but there are good reasons to pick Oregon here.
English

@HandshakeBets Just FYI -- Dan passed on two easy FG's in the first half to go for it. So it shoulda been 12-0 going into the 4th but it was 6-0 because Dan is a degenerate gambler.
English

When Oregon played Texas Tech…they ran the ball 47 times for 1.4 YPC. Their average starting field position was the 50 yard line and scored once (started on Tech’s 5 yard line). Went 4 for 8 on 4th down conversions. They should’ve scored at least 40 points with the field position & turnover margin.
Oregons offense did not play well and if this continues, which it very well can because IU defense is better than Texas Tech…IU wins by 30.
Oregons defense did look good though, better than last time IU played them, but Tech isn’t the best running & passing offense in the NCAA, like IU.
IU by 21.

English

@oregon__updates We're gonna have to play a near flawless game to beat them. Given how we're a young team, and they're avg age is 22.5 / 5th year -- it's gonna be very tough
English

@jessshields93 @barstoolttu The good news for TTU is, I think it's a lot easier/faster to build a great offense than it is to build a great defense. I think you guys are a lot closer than you think.
English

@barstoolttu That we are heading in the right direction. 12-2 as a tech fan is wild. Oregon is a national championship team, and apart from one phase of the game we could compete and win. Let’s keep building and get better.
English

@HurtsDaGoat2 It's because he's the only reason the chargers aren't 4-12. I swear 80% of "football fans" today don't actually watch full games. The Eagles are the most talented team in the NFL thanks to Howie.
English

@thebrettjames1 It's almost like, the team surrounding a QB matters...
