Thinking about that scene in obsession where bear is calling the wishbone customer service guy and he puts the real Nikki on the phone and all you can hear are her screams is a sound I will never forget.

OBSESSION SPOILERS but the fact that Nikki's incest poem of hansel and Gretel was proof that Nikki saw Bear as a brother. Nikki reads about Hansel having sex with Gretel his own sister. It’s a bone chilling allegory for what Bear is doing to the real Nikki

According to psychology some people will never reach out and speak to you again because they don't have the maturity to cope with the fact that they did you wrong and you didn't deserve it. Since they lack accountability, they will create a made-up narrative about you so they don't feel bad about themselves.
