Good morning. It’s my first post. Till now i was only reading. I want to share something. I’ve been sober for a month. I started working out, going for walks in nature a few times a week. I take cold showers daily and use an ice tub on weekends. I’ve also started meditating.

You’re not alone!
Cam@TheSoberSuccess

To anyone out there who's battling their own demons, struggling to find their way to sobriety or overcome any challenge, I want you to know that you're not alone. I've been there, in the depths of that struggle, feeling like there was no way out. But let me tell you something I've learned along the way: believing in your own desire to change, to stop whatever destructive pattern is holding you back, is the first step toward achieving that change. It's not easy, and it often requires more than just sheer willpower. For me, it took surrendering to the reality of my situation, seeking help through therapy, and finding support through programs like the local charity initiative I was fortunate enough to be a part of. Today, I stand nearly 9 months sober, a testament to the power of determination, support, and the willingness to admit when we need help. So if you're struggling right now, if you're feeling like giving up, please know that there is hope. There are people who care about you, who want to see you succeed, and who are ready to offer a helping hand if you're willing to reach out. It's not always an easy journey, but it's a journey worth taking. And if you ever need someone to talk to, my DMs are always open. You're stronger than you think, and you have the power to change your life for the better. Wishing everyone well on their journey. P.S. Appreciate the repost; it helps spread awareness about the risks of alcohol and the transformative impact of recovery. Stay Strong, Cam #RecoveryPosse #alcoholawareness #TheSoberSuccess #StayStrong

March 18, 2024 Today marks the two-year anniversary of Jason's passing. It's a day filled with both sorrow and reflection as I remember the incredible person he was and the impact he had on my life. Jason and I shared a bond that went beyond friendship; we were like brothers. When we met, I was in a dark place, but his kindness and friendship helped me through it. Despite battling my own addiction, I remained sober to support him during his illness and even at his funeral. His passing was a devastating blow, but it also served as a reminder of the fragility of life. I relapsed briefly afterward, but with determination and strength, I found my way back to sobriety, now celebrating over eight months clean. Jason was more than just a friend; he was a source of joy and laughter. We shared countless memories of fun times together, embracing life and each other's company. His love for Jiu-Jitsu was evident, although it wasn't a passion I initially shared. Now, three weeks into my own Jiu-Jitsu journey, I can't help but feel his absence keenly. I wish I could talk to him about my newfound interest, but I find solace in the memories he shared and the legacy he left behind. Starting Jiu-Jitsu feels like a tribute to Jason, a way to honor his memory and continue his passion. As I navigate this journey, I carry his spirit with me, grateful for the time we had together and the lessons he taught me. Enjoy Valhalla. Your presence is deeply missed, but your impact lives on in me. With love and remembrance, Cam Wishing everyone well on their journey. P.S. Appreciate the repost; it helps spread awareness about the risks of alcohol and the transformative impact of recovery. Stay Strong, Cam #RecoveryPosse #alcoholawareness #TheSoberSuccess #StayStrong

I’m sipping my coffee. Waiting for the citruline to kick in before I go for a Friday afternoon workout. I was thinking about algorithms, growth, and followers. Is it better to post on the weekend? Tuesday? Or whatever date. I decided to fuck the algorithm, copywriting, and other nuances. I got many DM’s from people thanking me for things I write. Sometimes it's an off-the-cuff spontaneous sentence. I will fire off more thoughts into the ether. If this helps at least one person. So be it. My intention is pure. I don’t want to help people. I feel a need to help them. If you dragged yourself out of the mud you feel the same. Have a great weekend.

Which way out is for you? Some people will need cognitive tricks to self-program and modify their behavior. For others, it’s reason and motivation. Awareness -mindfulness and meditation. Some will need to change their environment, and others connect deeply with people. Pick and choose.

Distinguishing between your feelings and those of others protects you from: - Subtle gaslighting - Triangulation - Projection - Love bombing - Coercion - Smear campaigns No matter how smart you think you are without emotional intelligence you are vulnerable to social predators.

This goes out to you who have struggled with drug and alcohol addiction: how would you rate your current relationship with yourself? Often low self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem go hand in hand with substance misuse. Listen, quitting the substance/behavior is not the work. The real work is healing and establishing a healthy relationship with with yourself. It is raw, it hurts, its hard…but the most important part of addiction recovery. Addictive behavior didn’t just happen spontaneously. There is a road to addiction that all of us take. I plotted mine out here. And I promise you that your road began with the acceptance of the belief that somehow you aren’t good enough, which leads to low self-confidence and self-worth. The road past addiction- and let me say that you don’t have to remain an addict for the rest of your life- is self-love. self-love is the only antidote to addiction and the way beyond it. You may be asking but how do I love myself? It’s a journey but something tangible to do right now, is to monitor your self-talk and how you refer to yourself in conversation. How often are you building yourself up or tearing yourself down. Just take today and observe your words and the tonality of them. If you want to learn more, DM or comment ME .
