@hillelogram I was watching some @rockthejvm Scala Materials , and was wondering how he overcomes expert blindness. I haven't seen him interviewed in a podcast, but i'd definitely listen to him talk about his process.
I'm 2500 words into an essay on how I run software workshops and feel like I haven't said anything remotely interesting or insightful about the topic
Ironically, the next section I'm writing is about how expert blindness makes it hard to tell what your students do and don't know
When kids repeatedly ask “why?” they’re trying to see the underlying reasoning behind what they’re told by authorities. “Because I said so” rejects that instinct and says “stop reasoning and obey.” We then become adults who only know how to trust authorities other than ourselves.
