We are proud to welcome Māori astronomer Victoria Campbell has joined the Tūhura Otago Museum whanau and we couldn’t be more excited! Tūhura is going to be the base for her new project researching and developing educational resources on Kāi Tahu knowledge of astronomy.

The wonderful Katherine and our awesome front-of-house team have been busy this year creating compost bins for the Museum. Ensuring we’re less wasteful, and we can create some amazing nutrients for nature surrounding the Museum.

This beautiful Indo-Persian powder flask (barutdan) can be found in our People of the World Gallery. This would have been used to carry powder for muzzle-loading guns. When you’re next in, it’s a must-see📷
