> tech: we will build a direct data pipeline and train a team of agents across our clean, structured data sets > me: why not just scrape the output every morning at 8am > tech: *condescendingly* no it doesn’t work that way > me: ok, how long until we can do it your way? > tech: something, something index, vector, mumbo jumbo .. beta testing in 3 months > me: dumps a 1000 files of unstructured data into a folder, “summarise this*, makes a coffee and scrolls for 10mins > tech: 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Thailands human capital is *outstanding*. Whenever I meet one of the 20-30yo professional class these days I'm mightily impressed If you hang out in bars you wouldn't know it, but the Thai kids have charisma, style, brians and ambition My daughter's financial prospects are better here than Australia
Chris in Bangkok@bangkokaussie

Ah, plus ca change. In the early days of the Thai Visa forum you had weary retirees and visa runners posting ‘if it wasn’t for us Thailand will collapse’. Now we’ve got crypto bros the spruiking the same trickle down ‘trust me bro I spend a lot ’ economics.

Writing an article on order execution in market making. Would you rather get it as a series or one long read? Or should I not bother? Lmk.

Generic well-wishing is too imprecise Why say “have a nice day” when you can calibrate it properly? - small interaction: “have a good next 30 seconds” - ... - major kindness: “have a great next 11.5 years” this seems better, people will love it

some interesting pricing between Polymarket's 2028 presidential election winner markets and democrat/republican nominee markets. they are very liquid but they are not efficient you can arbitrage these 1/5

have you ever captured 7 different cross-dex funding arbs, in 1 click each, in 30 seconds via 14 hidden TWAPs with randomized amounts and randomized intervals (fully hidden twaps, ie not visible as twaps onchain) with execution cost protection and twap slice skipping for undesirable price spreads/slippage non-custodially (use your regular wallet, we never see your private keys) while also listening to a podcast about usa men's hockey team beating canada in the only sport they care about because i have. about 10 mins ago on @LorisTools sign up here 👉 loris.tools/waitlist

@boat460 @QuantumHoneybee @fluxtheorist yeah so I think what's likely happening is not lag between UI server and matching engine or anything--I think it's literal lag in the browser loading the website/rendering things/etc.

I’m sitting next to this group of quants at this sushi place, and all they’ve been talking about for the last hour is how worrying about latency is dumb and only for N00Bs

Jobs I saw posted today: natural gas trader at Disney, sports trader, traffic intern at a commodity trading house, and FICC quant trader. It is important to remember that trading isn’t one thing, it’s a variety of disciplines practiced at a range of different institutions, each with their own goals, resources, and constraints.
