@MidnightBoshi I know *very little* about what Sonic's been up to for the last couple of decades but from only a couple of video clips I can make a real claim that Sticks is a fantastic addition to the cast. What a delightful loon.

I still think about the fact that Gore Magala and Sticks are friends.

@Boenau I thought it was the *inevitability* of getting caught, not the severity of consequence that was the real deterrent. While I agree the penalty for speeding in a school zone should be harsher, it's knowing you *WILL* be caught doing it that'll really get folks to reconsider.

Whatever the penalty for running red lights is, it's not harsh enough. Whatever the penalty for driving 10+ over the speed limit in front of schools is, it's not harsh enough. Most people will change their behavior to avoid harsh consequences.

@LGBTQ_Warhammer Goodwin's design language for the Eldar was *so strong* out of the gate it's been a matter of refinement rather than any real change. Even designs he had nothing to do with seamlessly fit into the line because the design elements are so iconic.

Seeing Jes Goodwins amazing design sketches from the 80s coming to life and being honoured today in new models is something that makes me so, SO HAPPY!

@FWCartography Not going to lie, refurbishment into a LRM boat is actually a great use for an *ancient* Mackie. Thing probably has as much armour as can fit on 100 tons and still has enough room left over for that AMS on the shoulder (assuming they're not just MGs).

@humantransit Sounds like two responses that mean the same thing: "Rich NIMBYs don't want to live near* the poor**" sounds entirely accurate * "near" defined as "cognizant of their existance" ** "poor" as defined by rich NIMBYs, includes anyone not a rich NIMBY, transit users, cyclists etc.

Yesterday, I asked why Oakland, California couldn't support a much larger population. A quarter of the responses are "Rich NIMBYs" while another quarter are "nobody wants to live near the poor." These can't both be right.

@AviationMarlene I SWEAR I've seen this thing in an episode of TaleSpin. Such a distinctive glass nose.

Breguet 730 was a reconnaissance seaplane that first flew in 1938. An order was placed but none was delivered before the armistice in June 1940. 4 were completed at the end of the war with nose and engine mods. It served until 1954 under the name Br.731 like the one in the photo.

@AviationMarlene I think the most interesting part of the F1 for me is that the wing is mounted at the shoulder and not the base like delta-winged Mirages. It's a clear indication that the F1 isn't *just* a Mirage with an alternate wing.

The Mirage F1 is such a pure, sharp machine, a real marvel. Here is a version produced for Spain, the Mirage F1M.

@TheMechFrog It was only recently I learned the Lancelot was intended to be an all-energy replacement to the Rifleman. With ER Large Lasers, DHS, & the right targeting computer I can totally see it working. Pair it with a Flashman & you've got disco night sorted.

@AviationMarlene It's genuinely impressive how French aviation made the jump from such... dubious designs of the 20s & 30s to the excellence and experimentation of the 40s+ once the government finally figured out what they wanted from the industry. Terrible timing on that choice though.

The SNCASO SO.30 was a French transport aircraft, developed partly underground during WWII, and first flown in 1945.
