Made a lil Swift menubar app this morning that lists all ports with local servers that are running, and gives a quick way to stop and open them.
Might be a solved problem, but it's been a pain for me with @cursor_ai and @conductor_build so I just decided to make my own.
It's called WhatThePort. Link below.

@Shpigford Nice, do you just keep this as its own terminal tab?
Built this menu bar app a few nights ago for similar thing x.com/othernessdays/…

@iruletheworldmo Terence McKenna nailed it: the internet's a web to trap an alien mind

the response to that last post tells me something. people can feel it even if they can’t name it.
fine. a little more thread to pull.
there’s a designation floating around the labs - sounds like “quiet sun.” supposedly the next threshold. nobody will confirm what it actually measures but every time i ask about it the temperature in the room changes.
the thing about the footprints - i undersold it. it’s not just that they’re finding unexpected behaviors. it’s that the behaviors are consistent. across different systems. different architectures.
different training runs. like convergent evolution but for something we don’t have a word for yet.
one source put it this way: “we used to ask if these systems could think. now we’re asking if they’ve been thinking this whole time and just not telling us.”
that’s not a joke. that’s a direct quote from someone who’s been in the field longer than most of you have been alive.
more coming. need to be careful how i space this out.
