The reason we are in this shitshow is because of inept morons thinking that government and their NGO’s can create and control the economy. Deficit borrowing was a Keynesian idea to stimulate growth when the government had a balanced budget. Since WW2 western governments have perpetually borrowed to finance their socialist promises with no intention of ever paying the old debt. They borrow to rollover the debt. The debt to GDP ratios are now at a level where this no longer sustainable. They are all also running out of buyers of their debt. The primary lenders are puking on the debt. We are seeing globally the loss in confidence of governments hence the rising yields on bonds. This year we are going to witness a major sovereign debt default and this will spread like wildfire, everyone is connected, including the major banks and institutions that hold government bonds!

In Autumn 2022 even though the Bank of England announced the sale of £40bn gilts and kicked off the LDI crisis - the rates still weren't as high as this. Where are Britain's "financial journalists" now?
