- Work at a top law firm, lobbying firm, tech startup, or bank. Make partner.
- Start your own firm or business.

This guy is such a doofus larper, Brahmin Boston WASPs were absolutely not making their kids toil in subsistence peasant labor in order to teach their kids "the value of hard work," this kind of conception of third-world style manual labor as intrinsically ennobling is an entirely modern knowledge worker striver concept, because this class is extremely conscious of the very thin line that separates them from the lower classes and are riddled with anxiety about it and also that they themselves don't think they're doing Real Work. @isa2001m Ya this was way to go for me as well. Every flour is different so you end up adding water by feel anyhow, once you figure out how you want your dough you can just go by intuition

Gave up on baking bread for a while bc I found it tedious, but last week I started again and decided to stop following recipes and do it intuitively instead. Despite having zero proper equipment and an oven that heats unevenly, every loaf since has been amazing.

A common thing you hear is geniuses make America succesful. But there are smart people in every country. India, Nigeria, Asia, Europe. The world is filled with smart people. But the world is not full of good systems.
What makes America unique is that base population creates a system that works. This system allows smart people to succeed. Without the system, the base population, no one can succeed.
A beehive works like this. A few scout bees take risks, and the rest are hive bees that keep the system working. They all do their job. It's the collective intelligence that allows the individuals to succeed.
