How cool is this?! Today I got to visit the Historic Tchefuncte River Lighthouse in Madisonville! Built in 1837, nearly 200 years ago! Exciting news — @ourbasin will be partnering with the NFL next week to plant 600 trees here to restore wetland habitat, combat coastal erosion.

Heavy rain and southeast wind are blowing invasive water hyacinth out of South Shore Canals & Bayou St John into Lake Pontchartrain. Invasive species like water hyacinth can degrade water quality and choke out other native beneficial species.

Help us solve the Bayou St. John Mystery! 🕵️‍♂️ While sampling biodiversity in Bayou St. John, we hit a snag—literally. Something BIG got into our fish traps and tore them to shreds! 😱 We had 5 pounds of bait in there, and it was all devoured. What do you think it was?!
