Roughly $33 for a 700 sq ft apartment during one of the hottest months of the year 😂 And no, we didn't suffer or sacrifice our quality of life! Turns out what’s good for the planet is usually good for our wallet too 🌍💰 #EnergyEfficiency #SustainableLiving #ClimateAction

We worry when the smoke reaches our lungs. But every wild animal out there has no way to close a window.

🔹 Use a spray bottle: Mist the ring every 10 mins to keep it wet, scrub, and flush. 🔹 If you must use paper, use recycled toilet paper. It clings but flushes away! Small daily shifts keep chemicals and waste out of our water. 🌱 #ZeroWaste #GreenCleaning #SustainableLiving

Cleaning a toilet feels petty next to global conservation, but small daily habits are what shape our planet. 🌍 This Southern Living guide: southernliving.com/how-to-clean-t… uses vinegar instead of harsh chemicals. We can make it even greener by skipping the paper towels they suggest 🧵

@Galahadsdad @bernabephoto Look at Cecil: his death broke a vital coalition and destabilized two distinct prides, leaving multiple cubs exposed to infanticide by rival males. Killing a single prime male disrupts entire pride structures. It is a biological disaster, not "conservation."

And while this photo has your attention, let me remind you all that our lion population has plummeted from more than 100,000 individuals just 50 years ago, to less then 20,000 today. That's just 50 years! Say NO to hunting lions and yes to sustainable tourism so that generations from now, humans can still enjoy moments like this one. #BanTrophyHunting

@Galahadsdad @bernabephoto That is a hunting brochure narrative, not wildlife biology. Trophy hunters do not fly across the world to shoot old, sick lions. They target prime pride leaders. Furthermore, data shows local communities see under 10% of those fees – the rest goes to foreign safari operators.

Bought 2 books by a climate denier at a discount: no real profit for them, but now I have the text. They claim Arctic ice isn't changing, but NASA data shows spring ice break-up is happening 3 to 9 days earlier per decade. More to come when I have time. #FactCheck #PolarBears

The Arctic sea ice needs every dollar of support, yet the official channels here have been completely silent during this $25,000 matching campaign. With only 5 days left and 13% raised, it is time to engage the thousands of dedicated followers on this platform. @PolarBears

Policies mean nothing if your stores aren't encouraged to implement them. The default should always be sustainability, not single-use trash. Time to walk the talk, @Starbucks. Sign the petition to demand accountability: beyondplastics.org/actions/starbu…
Beyond Plastics@PlasticsBeyond

@Starbucks: Why aren’t you following your own reusable cup policy? Starbucks’ official policy is that any beverage at a company-owned store with cafe seating (meaning the vast majority of stores) “will be served in a ceramic mug or glass unless a customer specifically requests a to-go cup.” But Starbucks is frequently violating its own policy. During our Starbucks recycling investigation, we were never once served our beverage in a reusable cup; and 88% of the time, we were not asked if the drink was for here or to-go. It appears the default at Starbucks is single-use disposable cups, and not reusables. Sign our petition to ask Starbucks to follow its own reusable policy at beyondplastics.org/actions/starbu… #starbucks #reusablerevolution

Protecting our communities doesn’t happen by accident—it happens when people understand how decisions are made on the local level and become civically engaged. Join Rebecca Martin, Beyond Plastics’ Director of Community Partnerships and Training, a community organizer with 20+ years of on-the-ground experience and a record of local, county, and state campaign wins, for our quarterly Grassroots Advocacy Training this July. Learn how community members can move from concern to effective action by understanding how local government works—and how to use that process to win meaningful change. In this training, Rebecca will cover how to: • Understand how local decisions are made • Navigate civic process with confidence • Build community support • Engage decision-makers effectively • Start small with campaigns that can win If you’re ready to move from caring about issues to influencing outcomes, this training is for you. Old phones, fridges or laptops don’t just disappear when tossed. The world generates 62 million tonnes of e-waste each year, enough to fill 1.5 million trucks. New regulations, circular design and better recycling can help stop the toxic tide and #BeatWastePollution: ow.ly/HpsU50ZkmmY
