Just know that anybody that is able to “japa” to either UK or US wasn’t struggling in Nigeria, let that sink into your head, don’t pressure yourself!

I have lived in the UK long enough to notice one thing that breaks my heart about Nigeria. In Britain, an 80 year old woman knows exactly what her pension will be next month. She plans her shopping around it. Books her holidays around it. Lives her dignity around it. In Nigeria, an 80 year old man who served this country for 35 years is begging his children for feeding money. And we call Britain a cold, individualistic society. At least their old people are not dying of hunger in their children's parlours, too proud to ask for water. We pride ourselves as "family-oriented" culture. But we have normalised leaving our elderly to rot while the government that took their best years lives in Abuja eating their future. A society that cannot protect its old people has no business calling itself civilised.

@NaijaFlyingDr It's easier really, but Nigerians prefer the comfort of stable salary that a job/independent contracting provides. It's a potential vs actual thingy

@Accoid @ShimmerLeRaina It’s possible she has an EB 1. She meets most of the requirements for an EB1. I have seen people with far less of her achievements qualify for and obtain an EB 1 directly without going through the O1 route. With an EB1, she would be confident to post

@dvassallo And those people, in turn, wake up every day to give him their time, energy, and lives so he can remain a billionaire. He didn’t do them a favor by paying them what is due to them.

@iam_mallaury It’s not a one-size-fits-all, I could be broke and decide to date an older woman because I can get support. Than date someone who is just starting their career and leaving all financial responsibilities to me

@StockSavvyShay The funniest part of tax discourse is rich people acting like they just discovered working class Americans exist. Talk is cheap Bezos. Are you gonna pay your fair share or just keep giving TED Talks about it?

Jeff Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay zero federal income tax. He cited a nurse in Queens making ~$75K and paying ~$12K in taxes saying “we shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington.”

Up North rent is definitely cheaper.. I have seen some proper 3-bedroom places listed online for prices that would barely get you a tiny room in some parts of London. But taste and standards differ sha….

I keep hearing people say rent is still cheap up North in the UK. Like some people are paying £500-£600 for decent 3-bedroom flats while London is out here charging premium tears for tiny spaces. How true is it abeg? Which areas are actually affordable? Asking for a friend 🙊

@Madridghost1 Nigerians and their loud mouths.. I just don't get it. Any small progress they make, them don set ring light. Something Indians dey run since Adam quietly . If you are an immigrant in that country and you are not paying attention to how Indians move, you are sleeping on bike.

@MrMekzy_ @Ellasstyl That extra 15 was the worst of his years, and he gave birth to a tyrant during those years. That later went on to rule and caused havoc

@Ellasstyl No I don’t believe. God told king Hezekiah through the prophet Isaiah that he was going to die and should put his house in order. Hezekiah prayed and wept bitterly, asking God to remember how faithfully he had served Him and God gave him extra 15 years.

Things like this really confuse me tbh, makes me honestly scared and i’m not even trying to be mischievous. This pastor heads NSPPD and a whole lot of people have gotten healed (i believe that the healings are real btw) just by being a part of it but this is the same man laying his hands directly on Alex and he still passed on. I think about this thing and it shakes my faith a lot tbh. I have so many questions because it’s genuinely confusing.

@TDeisine This sounds beautiful but it is not a very good move for the kids. It looks more to me like selfishness from the parents end without considering the faith foundation of the kids. The kids will eventually have unstable belief systems. Parents shouldn't be selfish.

I don’t attend same church with my husband, it was agreed before marriage. I am catholic and he is Pentecostal, I remember telling him that I have no intention of leaving my church for his if we eventually get married. He said he don’t care, after all, what’s the big deal? My kids dedication was done in his church because I was too lazy to pursue the process. We always do crossover night in my church and we attend our various churches on sundays when I am not too lazy to attend church. Some things should be settled before going to the altar
SOLACE@Elevenheavn

Married couples attending separate churches, is that supposed to be normal or a sign of distance in the family?
