A Short Note on Bengal Voter Turnout
The massive voter turnout in the first phase of voting in West Bengal Assembly election, about 92.5% compared to 82.5% earlier, means the BJP has swept this phase.
Let us understand this: TMC’s core vote, Muslims, was already voting at peak levels. So this 10 percentage points incremental vote is on account of the sharp rise in Hindu voter turnout and as per initial indication, over 80% of the incremental vote has gone to the BJP.
Now over to phase two with an exhortation to increase the share of the incremental Hindu vote to 90% to enable a record sweep by BJP.
Amidst the enthusiasm of high voter turnout, one stark trend stands out and it’s good news for the people of West Bengal and the BJP.
Unlike 2024 and 2021, there is no sudden spike in polling percentages after 5:30 PM leading up to the final turnout figures. This raises an important point: voters showed up early, determined to exercise their democratic right and be part of the change.
It could also indicate something else, the apparent absence (or sharp decline) of “chappa votes” this time.
No wonder Mamata Banerjee seems visibly rattled. She is now, to use a Bangla word, moriya — desperate, frantic, inchoate.
A free, fair electoral process is exactly what West Bengal deserves and the people are making it happen.

After that he did in Delhi in IRS officer home😳 On Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer's daughter murder case, Vijay Kumar, Joint CP Southern Range, Delhi Police, says, "Around 8:45 this morning, we received information that an incident had occurred in Amar Colony. The call was made by the girl's parents. The IRS officer had gone to the gym with his wife. While they were away, someone entered their home. Upon their return, they found their daughter lying unconscious. They immediately rushed her to Fortis Hospital, where doctors declared the girl dead. Following this information, the police team initiated its investigation. We deployed multiple teams to handle this case. Based on preliminary information, suspicion centred on a former domestic help named Rahul Meena, whom the family had dismissed about 1.5 month for some reasons. Subsequently, we obtained CCTV footage and gathered information from several eyewitnesses confirming that he had indeed entered the house that morning. He arrived in the colony around 6:30 AM, entered the house around 6:39 AM, and exited around 7:20 AM. It was during this interval that he committed the crime...We successfully apprehended him from an OYO hotel in the Dwarka area, and further interrogation is currently underway. Regarding this incident, we have very strong evidence and on the basis of which we intend to present a robust case in court to ensure that the accused receives the severest possible punishment." "He was removed, as numerous complaints had been received regarding his habit of constantly asking for money on loan. Investigations revealed that he used to play online games and would borrow money from other domestic workers in the neighbourhood." "After the incident, he changed his trousers and shoes.Regarding the motive behind this incident, he committed a similar crime yesterday in Alwar. When our team reached Rajgarh, Alwar, to apprehend him, we found that he had perpetrated a similar offence there late yesterday evening. He may have such a mindset; this will be further confirmed during the ongoing interrogation. A rape case was registered against him in Alwar yesterday." "In this instance, we have invoked sections pertaining to rape and murder, as well as robbery."

Russia just gave Germany less than 2 weeks notice.
Germany stopped buying Russian oil in 2022 and replaced it with Kazakh oil. The oil still travels through a Russian pipeline so Russia still decides if it moves.
On May 1 it will not.
The refinery receiving that oil supplies 90% of the petrol, kerosene and heating fuel for Berlin, its airport and the surrounding region. A full halt cuts 17% of what it processes overnight. The last time this refinery lost its main supply it dropped to 50-60% capacity and Berlin faced fuel shortages within weeks.
The only alternative route is through Poland's port of Gdansk. Poland is already using that capacity for its own refinery.
With the Hormuz closed there is no surplus supply sitting anywhere in Europe ready to fill a gap this size.
Germany spent four years saying it had ended its dependence on Russian energy. The oil it replaced it with has travelled through a Russian pipeline every day since 2022. Russia has just shown who really owns that oil.

Her name is Tessy Thomas.
She was born in April 1963 in Alappuzha. Her father was a small businessman. When she was in class eight, a paralytic stroke left him bedridden. She watched her family hold together through it.
Growing up near the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station, she became fascinated by missiles. She wanted to be an IAS officer and prepared for UPSC. Her DRDO interview got cleared first.
She joined Defence Research and Development Organisation in 1988 as Scientist B. She was one of very few women in India’s defence research at the time.
Her mentor was A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
She spent the next two decades in the Agni missile programme, working on guidance systems, navigation schemes and trajectory simulations. She designed the guidance scheme used across Agni variants.
In 2009, she became Project Director of Agni-IV. The first woman in India to lead a missile project.
Agni-IV has a range of around 4000 kilometres. Its 2011 test was a complete success.
She later served as Project Director for Agni-V, with a range of over 5000 kilometres. The 2012 test placed India among a small group of countries with such capability.
The media called her India’s Missile Woman. DRDO called her Agniputri.
Her son’s name is Tejas, named after HAL Tejas.
She once left him sick at home with family to oversee a missile launch. She said she had no choice. The launch could not wait.
A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is remembered as India’s Missile Man.
Tessy Thomas is India’s Missile Woman.
Most people still do not know her name.
