Today the Comm & Culture students took a day trip to Val d’Orcia! We visited a local honey & olive oil producers, and a pasta factory.

On Wednesday, the Comm & Culture students toured the Drago contrada museums. “Contrade” are communities in Siena filled with tradition. Twice a year, 10 contrade participate in “Palio,” a horse race full of rivalries. We are getting excited to see the Palio on July 2!

We didn’t have class on Friday, so the Communication & Culture students had a long weekend! Some took the opportunity to travel to other cities in Italy, including: Pisa, Cinque Terre, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast.

Today the Communication & Culture in Tuscany program took a cooking class and learned how to make local dishes, including: pici, pollo al limone, sformato di patate, and panna cotta alla composta di frutta.

Week 1 of the @MizzouComm Communication & Culture in Tuscany program flew by! This week, we got oriented to Siena through cultural walking tours and great food. The rest of today will be spent celebrating Festa della Repubblica🇮🇹
