@sheathescholar A lot of people are saying nothing but I think thats not true. We need to be intentional about not excluding LGBTQIA+ populations from the narrative and for some people that will cost something mainly a change in speech patterns. This is human rights, not just cis womens rights.

@JayWamsted May I recommend Andika? I believe it has all the literacy advantages of Comic Sans, but none of the problems. software.sil.org/andika/

Show me a teacher who doesn't use Comic Sans on the regular and I'll show you a grumpy old math teacher.

@mochamomma My initial reaction to this was “No💜✨” but the more I’ve seen it come across my feed the more petty I’m feeling so if I did get it I would send every. Single. Thing. That said ANY race, pronoun, gender, sex, or mention therefore of. I would go out of my way to do it too.

@thereadingzone Disrespectfully, no. I won’t be doing any of that. I’m gonna need parents (for the most part) and a hefty percentage of educators I get it together. We are anti-racist, dismantling our own biases, and teaching white supremacy is wrong.

@heymrsbond @mrskellylove I use Ijeoma Oluo as well, but I’ve been pretty disconnected from everything this summer to work on recognizing my own internal biases so I’m going to need to look into Ngozi Adichie again. Thank you for bringing this to light.
