@louise_son12473 @CF_Farrow @RayMairead @Tesco Can be difficult when many have been put out of business by supermarkets. Then there’s the additional price.. You have a point but you’re going about it in the wrong way.

@GullisJonathan @IpswichTown Bloody hell, I’d forgotten about you! Assumed you’d disappeared into irrelevance with Hancock, have you joined reform yet?

The faux outrage over Nigel Farage’s visit to @IpswichTown is pathetic and yet entirely predictable. Anyone who is ‘triggered’ by his visit needs to urgently grow up. There are far more serious things to be concerned with right now.

@BBCBreaking How can this be allowed without parliamentary debate as a minimum? Starmer is a pathetic stooge, painting targets on our backs.

@lewvine Prem are also appealing for a harsher penalty for Leicester’s late filing of accounts. Could backfire!

#oufc Not liking this. Leicester making an appeal against their 6 point deduction. The considered view was they were lucky not to be deducted 12 points! Can’t see the EFL even compromising as they would be setting a precedent! Meanwhile we need 22 more pts!

@PaulHowey1 @SangitaMyska Not a Marxist. Just a believer in fairness. I’m honestly curious, I haven’t seen any legitimate poll that would suggest what you are stating, so just asking where you are getting your information?

@oxmanc @SangitaMyska I know its difficult for Marxists to understand.... that there are more people who don't support their ideology then do... but I'm afraid reality hurts, eh?

Reform takes up its perma-seat on BBC Question Time again, a week ahead of the crucial by-election in Gorton and Denton. Reform has just 0.8% of seats in parliament. Are the programme’s producers hoping to increase it?

@SangitaMyska What an odd point of view... and clearly partisan view Im NOT a reform voter but it CLEARLY has more support nationally than any other party... so why wouldnt any rational person understand why they are often represented? You worried they might make valid points?

Anyone leave their hat on the back of their seat at Ewood Park last night, about halfway up behind the goal? Have sent it back down to Oxford with a friend so you should be able to collect it from the club on Saturday #OUFC

Yvette Cooper - Labour MP for Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley (West Yorkshire) since 1997. This updated post will focus on the donations and funding that Yvette has received. All I can say, is that when you think of all the TV and radio interviews she does, not once does Yvette get asked about this; asked about her donors and the possible influence they have on the decisions she’s currently making as the British Home Secretary. The @ElectoralCommUK website shows that Yvette has received £903,933.31 from various donors but it doesn’t tell the full story. Two donors in particular have been very generous to Yvette: Gary Lubner and the multimillionaire and private healthcare tycoon Peter Hearn - individually and through his companies MPM Connect Ltd. and OPD Group Ltd. Yvette has accepted the following donations: £210,000 from Labour donor Gary Lubner (June 2023). £189,370.75 from Labour donor Peter Hearn. £267,011.00 from Peter Hearn and MPM Connect Ltd. £34,000 from Peter Hearn and OPD Group Ltd. £162,061.35 from the Trevor Chinn, Martin Taylor, Lord Alli, Lord Sainsbury, Gary Lubner funded/Morgan McSweeney run consortium @LabourTogether £39,000 from Labour donor Anthony Doyle £5,000 from Sonny Leong. £25,000 from property developer David Garrard. £3,000 from lobbyist Edward Rodgers. £5,040 from @GMB_union £109,859.00 from Barbara Follett. With her £159,038 salary, expenses (£21,955.68+ claimed since 1/4/24), donations, housing allowances, her husband’s £2.5 million contract with @GMB (and net worth of £3-4 million), book royalties, perks and much more, Yvette has done very well indeed in her 28 years at Westminster. ‘In Pontefract and Knottingley 18.0% of people are living in neighbourhoods amongst the top-10 most deprived in England.’ On 9th July 2025, Yvette voted for the Universal Credit/PIP cuts that will result in further hardship down the line for people who are disabled and vulnerable. Yvette also voted to scrap the #WinterFuelPayment to pensioners 🥶 and voted to retain the two child benefit cap which ‘significantly contributes to child poverty’ in the UK. @UKLabour @YvetteCooperMP
