Because they breed underground, we don't usually know what #manxShearwaters are getting up to at the nest. The new @skomer_island burrow cams have changed that, so even watching an adult settle on its egg is pretty exciting - looks like a fiddly operation! #seabirds #ornithology

It was a tight squeeze in one of our nests last night as after 2 days of neglect, both parents returned to their egg. Manx eggs can last ~14 days without being incubated - but hopefully these 2 will soon realise it's easier to split the burden #seabirdersaturday #ornithology
