Still in eviction season at @Web3Bridge, so we decided to take a break from staring at Solidity syntax and test our investment prowess, on the Monopoly board 🎲💰
Sometimes the best way to understand treasury management is rolling dice instead of deploying contracts.

Week 1 at @Web3Bridge learning Solidity
This week marked my official journey into blockchain development, and what an incredible start it's been!
📚 Core Topics Covered:
We dove deep into blockchain fundamentals - from distributed ledgers and consensus mechanisms to the distinction between public and private blockchains. Understanding these foundations really contextualized why blockchain technology matters.
🔐 Blockchain Primitives:
Explored the building blocks: cryptographic hash functions, public key cryptography, Merkle trees, blockchain structure, smart contracts, and nodes. We even looked at multichain implementations using Bitcoin as an example.
📖 Reading Progress:
Read The Ethereum Book up to chapter 3. Key takeaways include:
Deeper understanding of Merkle Trees and the proposed Verkle Trees (Verge update)
What it means to be Turing complete
The Gas vs Ether distinction - transactions are paid in gas, but you need ETH to buy it
💻 Solidity Fundamentals:
Started learning Solidity syntax, data types (uint, int, bool, address, bytes, string, arrays, mappings, structs, enums), state variables, functions, modifiers, control structures, and events.
🎤 Group Presentation:
Ended the week with group presentations and assessments. My group tackled "Blockchain Structure - How are blocks linked together to form an immutable chain? What happens during chain reorganizations, and how does the network determine the canonical chain?"
My specific topic: "How does the network determine the canonical chain?"
Here is the link to my detailed breakdown on Substack: thegreatfeez.substack.com/p/how-blockcha…
🙏 Huge thanks to @kenzman18 for an amazing first week! The decision to organize us into study groups made a MASSIVE difference in my learning journey. Collaborative learning is truly powerful.
🤝To all my fellow cohort members, your questions, insights, and collaborative spirit made this week so much richer. Learning alongside you all has been inspiring. Here's to growing together! 💪

Pre-unboarding with the Chief Mechanic, @Ebunayo08 and it’s all smiles! Oh btw, the match making kicked off already 😌🚀
Alumni, come closer… does this smile last or should they enjoy this phase? 👇

@digitalbenji Thanks!
Exactly, the code wasn’t the problem the first time, it just didn’t have the right context. This time I get to plug it into a brand with real customers behind it.
