my mom was called to go in for her transplant but unfortunately during surgical prep, they discovered the donor kidney was damaged. donations are still open for them to have a savings buffer for when they will inevitably have to be out of work for her recovery

@pluubyy id say the diff is that even in a speedpaint of going straight to lineart/using sketch as lineart, you can see adjustments being made along the way (redoing the hair, sizing the legs, the halo etc) while ai speedpaints hardly account for that behavior. btw this piece is so good

@painq_ true but that's only for half of it! this also is about people who want to balance art fight with regular life. i consider myself lucky to even do 3 attacks on avg each year when some aren't even able to sign up to do one bc they have to prioritize work/school

@theswordwizard it's a bit of both yeah u_u ppl push themselves to put more output than necessary and some people can't participate to do even 1 attack bc a month is short in the scope of their schedule

@plasticbottle02 yeah, i'm not well versed in site hosting of that magnitude, but i imagine that would be the main reason for them to not do so. only thing i could think is that if it was a longer event, there's more reason for people to donate to keep it going, to have special profiles, etc
