India’s headline growth numbers may look strong, but weak prices and stagnant incomes tell a different story. The stress is clearest in agriculture, where crop prices are not just stagnating but falling below MSPs, economist @p_chatterjee (@ShivNadarUni) tells @pujamehra. "Agriculture supports about 45% of the population. If the income of that population falls, then it will have repercussions throughout the economy."
