The tests that Trump sent to Putin weren’t just your basic swabs that you have in your home bathroom, they were molecular point-of-care test machines that hospitals desperately needed to rapidly detect infections in a critical time. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic was hurt by long wait times for central lab PCR tests. Please understand, NYC is spending more than 10 TIMES the amount of the lost fares to try to collect those fares through excessive policing. The main problem is that ppl are poor & the subway should be free. If we stop wasting money on things like this, we could just make it free

The NYPD spent $150 Million *extra* last year to catch people who weren't able to afford to pay the subway fare. They owed just $104,000. $150 million could buy free fares (at going rate) for 95,000 poor New Yorkers per year. Instead four people shot, including an officer.
