Sadly, when NGO funding was suddenly withdrawn, the school had to close its doors. Overnight, our children were left without any primary education — their dreams of learning, growing, and one day attending high school were put on hold. After deep thought, heartfelt discussions with our team, and many prayers, we have made a firm decision: we will not wait for others to solve this. We are taking action ourselves. We are registering an official school with the Ministry of Education. My elder sister, Rana Elsayed, who holds a teaching degree, will lead the application and play a key role in running the school. The school named Janna School (meaning Heaven, Paradise, or Bliss, after my precious baby daughter) will serve 40-60 children aged 6-12. It will give them a strong foundation to prepare for high school and a better future. We already have the tent that was left behind, but we urgently need proper school furniture again. The desks and chairs that once filled the classroom were removed when the school closed. To make this happen right away, we need to raise between $2,000 and $3,000 to purchase tables, chairs, and basic setup essentials. I am fully committed to this mission. Education, reading, and learning have always been close to my heart; this is not just a project for me, it is a calling. Israel just blew up a school in southern Lebanon. A year ago, it would have fabricated lies that the school was a secret hideout of Hamas or that there were tunnels below it filled with weapons. Since the West protected Israel as it destroyed Gaza, Israel doesn't even feel the need to make up lies or excuses any longer. It just kills and destroys without limitation. And according to Israeli politicians, yesterday it was Gaza, today it's Lebanon and Iran, and tomorrow it will be Turkey.

We were directly shot at by Israeli soldiers just moments ago while we were in the car heading toward southern Gaza. In an instant we froze from fear and were unable to think. We were forced to duck down inside the car trying to shield ourselves in any way possible just to escape the terrifying sound of bullets getting closer and we survived by a miracle. I asked the driver in a trembling voice what is happening and why are Israeli soldiers shooting at us. He looked at me and replied with words harsher than the bullets themselves “just for fun they are practicing shooting.” I felt a deep shock as if my heart had suddenly dropped. For fun have we become living targets are our lives worth so little. It was not just fear but an indescribable sense of oppression. When I realized that these bullets can actually hit people I understood that we were on a road of death. This is not a normal road this is a road you may never survive. My words stopped and only one question kept screaming in my head why why all this suffering why do we live like this where is the ceasefire they keep talking about.
