He confirmed that this will be raised at tomorrow's meeting of EU foreign ministers, with the question being whether the EU Aspides mission in the Red Sea could be expanded. However, Wadephul argued that already now, Aspides is “not effective” in the Red Sea. He addes that he is thus “very skeptical that expanding the Aspides mission in the Strait of Hormuz would lead to greater security.”

Fachartikelautoren, die statt "wegen" das Wort "eingedenk" verwenden, weiß man da schon mehr?

Was mich am meisten stört: Stegner kritisiert Länder, die permanenten Drohungen ausgesetzt sind, die immer wieder hybrid angegriffen werden, dass sie ihre Verteidigung ausbauen. Er kritisierte aber zuvor Russlands Aufrüstung nicht.

Abrüstung funktioniert, wenn beide Seiten strategisch einen Vorteil davon haben. Aktuell sieht ihn Russland nicht, weil Europa ohne den unzuverlässigen Partner USA zu schwach ist.

Es gibt Leute in meiner Partei, die so tun, als gab und gibt es diese diplomatischen Versuche für den Frieden nicht. Als wäre die Aufrüstung Europas das Problem - wobei so gut wie alle gespart haben, also das Gegenteil - bis Putin Krieg eskalieren ließ, bis Putin aufrüstete.

Ein "Manifest" mit u.a. "schrittweise Rückkehr zur Entspannung der Beziehungen und einer Zusammenarbeit mit Russland" ... Jetzt gerade? WTF!? ... Zusammenarbeit mit einem Kriegsverbrecher, der sich schon für die nächsten Ziele präpariert? Gute Nacht!
