@MetaVaria @redkeytar The chat feature was certainly the reason I quit Webkinz for Club Penguin as a kid. The safety limits encouraged an innocent, imaginative culture where jokes, since they couldn’t fall into usual inappropriate cliches, had to be original, and the possibilities were endless.

@redkeytar All of the above plus one factor nobody ever talks about. At its core CP was a chat room. Everything on top of that (besides fun minigames) was an illusion that created the idea of a living world in which to chat in. That was completely lost after 2011 or 12, leading to its end.

What made Club Penguin YOUR game?

@redkeytar I'd say a little of all of these, so it was hard to choose. In the end, though, I think the art style and music are what really affected the culture of good wholesome stupidity.

@KediKatzen Glad to hear you're still working on your comics!

I'm still working on my comics quietly, I'm still going to publish them as free webcomics, I just haven't been as active since losing my dad, and I'm working on getting a second degree and working extra hours to pay for that after recovering from surgery and other expenses.
