Low fertility rates is a growing crisis around the world (especially in so-called “Christian” nations). Islam is growing around the world through fertility rates. The Bible has a lot to say about the blessing of children.

Prayer is the foundation! Love our students hearts for the nations!

Throughout February and March, the Jenkins Center has welcomed faculty, students, and staff each weekday to pray for the salvation of over 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide during Ramadan. This dedicated time of intercession reminds us that the gospel is for every people and every nation. As Muslims observe Ramadan, we ask God to draw many to the hope and salvation found in Christ. Join us in the Jenkins Center this week and next as we continue to pray for the advance of the gospel among Muslim peoples.

“There’s a difference in seeking answers from God, and surrendering my heart to God.” In chapel today, Dr. Eric C. Smith, Associate Professor of Church History, preached from 1 Samuel 28 and walked us through the tragic final chapter of Saul’s life. Saul wanted guidance without repentance, answers without surrender. He silenced God’s voice for years, only to find himself desperate and alone in the dark. The haunting warning is clear, we cannot substitute public service of God for private surrender to God.

In December 2025, former US Senator @BenSasse announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That's the primary topic for this @UncKnowledge conversation about mortality, faith, and what truly matters when time is short. Talking to host @P_M_Robinson, Sasse reflects on "redeeming the time"—holding ambition lightly, loving family more deliberately, and resisting the urge to make politics or professional success the center of life. The discussion also covers Sasse's thoughts on the failures of Congress; the dangers of a fragmented, attention-starved republic; the crisis of higher education; and the moral challenges of technological abundance. So thankful for pastor Miguel!

“We pray. He sends, that’s very simple.” In chapel today during Great Commission Week, Dr. Miguel Núñez, Professor of Pastoral Leadership, reminded us that the Great Commission is a divine enterprise. The harvest is vast, the task is beyond our strength, and the solution Christ gave was clear. We plead with the Lord of the harvest, and He sends workers in His time and by His power. The Spirit empowers witnesses, convicts hearts, and builds the church for the glory of Christ.

It’s Great Commission Week, and stories like this remind us why theological training matters for the work of the church. Joshua Lemaiyan pastors in Nairobi while studying through Southern’s online programs. Through that training, he is growing in his own ministry and helping make theological education more accessible to pastors across Africa. This is the work of multiplication, pastors trained to train others, for the good of the church and the spread of the gospel among the nations.
