I hate GenAi. I hate that it exists. I hate that it makes everything seem fake in a world already rife with frauds and scammers. It disconnects us further from each other and the human gift of art, for no discernible reward I can fathom. It feeds all our worst qualities: laziness, historical and literary degeneracy, dishonesty and covetousness. It turns people into thieves that argue back in total absurdity: “I should have the right to steal and lie.” It is poison delivered by keystroke.

In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.

@palace_fire @theworlddiva @lololeereverie Its kind of funny, I made this piece 12 years ago, one of my first. The method I used was almost identical to the process that modern GANs use. I took India ink inmy mouth, spit it and smeared it (noise layer) then penned the details that I saw with my minds eye (coherence layer)

@xenesed @theworlddiva @lololeereverie Using ai is identical to commissioning an artist to do a series of sketches for you. Except when you hire a real artist, you have to pay them for edits. You are commissioning a computer program to do a series of sketches and edits. And that program steals from real artists.

This is not even remotely comparable. Language is the substrate of poetic expression The correct analogy would be: Words are to poems as paint is to painting. Ai is more of a video game than art form. I think there is more skill expression in video games though. Ai is a choose your own adventure novel.

It changed punk music forever. Was project X derivative? It’s the guys from gorilla biscuits and sonic youth. You know who is in those bands? DIY punk is about creating culture. Bringing others in. @palace_fire @theworlddiva @lololeereverie 90% of the songs you love are derivative or sampled, most of all art is theft or derivative. AI at the very least is infinitely larger of a library to work with than existing art. I love hearing non-artists talk about it.
