Remember arriving at Tokyo Stn with a big suitcase & the elevator being in a hard-to-find corner in a row of shops. Also a kind of disapproval of resting in public areas.

@bando_dubai @Konekoutena Honestly, out of the 3 countries, Japan has noticeably the most hostile architecture for the elderly/disabled. Very few elevators/escalators, steep stairs without ramps, little seating, toilets or bins. In China you find public toilets, benches & hot water dispensers everywhere.

@ShangguanJiewen You forgot to mention that they also have cameras everywhere to watch what you do and you get a social score for bad behavior that prevents you from even being able to get on a bus if the party doesn't approve. Personally, I think its a good idea but many in US won't.

Because China is a EXTREMELY high trust society, they have installed TVs outdoors in public places. You can go relax in your neighborhood and watch movies socially. No worrying people will steal or destroy the public living space.

@kimuse_ Yeah, I found Japanese food kind of carb-heavy and half the dishes covered in the same sweet brown sauce. Veggies, beans, fruit expensive & of little variety, chicken & pork over-dominant meat options. Plus point was the seafood. Korean banchan makes the meal feel more balanced.

이 말에 일본 사람들이 많이 긁힌거 같다… 한국인으로써 일본에서 살다보면 느끼게 되는 부분인데 아마 공감 하는 한국 사람이 더 많을꺼다. 일본 분들도 한국에 오래 사신분들은 공통적으로 동의 하시는 분들이 꽤 많다. 오해 할 수 있으니 말해두고 가지! 일본 전국에 식재료가 많지 않다는 얘기가 아니다. 일본의 식문화가 발달 되지 않았다는 얘기가 아니다. 일본은 동서로 길고 기후대도 다양하며 4면이 바다인 일본의 식재료는 풍부하고 그 가지수가무궁무진 하다. 다양한 전통 요리, 향토 요리들이 있으며 요리에 관한 매우 깊고 세계적으로도 특징 있는 미식의 나라이다. 그 점을 부정하는게 아니라는걸 밝혀둔다. 그런데 ”일반 일본인들이 평소에 실생활에서 먹는 음식의 종류“로 한정하면 별로 많지 않다는걸 알게 된다. 일단 단순 비교로 대표 대형 마트인 이마트, 이온몰만 가봐도 식재료 수가 차이가 난다. 한국이 야채 종류도 그렇고 고기류도 그렇고 더 다양하게 많다. 생선류는 일본이 많지만 해조류까지 하면 한국이 훨씬 많다. 일본의 동네 슈퍼에는 더 그 수가 적다. 그건 일상에서 해 먹는 요리의 경우의 수가 적다는것이다. 작년에 중국의 같은 급 마트에 갔는데 한국 식재료와 소스의 3배는 더 다양한게 있더라. 그래서 중국인이 나한테 한국에는 먹을께 중국보다 없어 하면 난 인정할꺼 같다. 분명히 적으니깐. 토 달고 싶은 사람 있으면 한국인, 일본인 각 나라 현지에서 최소 10년 이상 체류해 본 사람 반박은 들어주겠음. 아님 식재료나 음식 관련 전문가나.
