I met a lady yesterday who was wearing a cross necklace. I told her I loved her necklace and asked if she knew Jesus. She instantly told me how Jesus had saved her. She spent the next 20 minutes sharing how she grew up Buddhist but Jesus changed her life several years ago, specific ways He’s been at work in her life since then, and things she’s currently praying for. Such a cool conversation and a reminder that noticing small things like jewelry, tattoos, shirt slogans or anything else can lead into bigger conversations about Jesus. Be ready. If you have faith in God, if you believe that He can use you, if you are willing to take a step of faith here and there, then God can and will do incredible things through you. One thing I’ve said many times over the years is that God is not looking for ability but availability. He can give you ability in time. But God is looking for someone to say, “I would like to make a difference where I am. Lord, I am available.” If you do, just watch what God will do.

What a powerful witness it is to a lost world when we, as Christians, build one another up instead of tearing each other down. You may be the only Bible some people ever read. The Scripture says we are “living letters,” written by God and read by all (2 Corinthians 3:2–3). Let’s make sure our lives clearly reflect Christ.

Leadership requires both the skill of being out front of the people to lead them and the discipline of being on your knees to pray for them. Both are a spiritual disciplines that leaders must embrace.

In today's culture, the collective wisdom will say that love is giving to others whatever they want, whatever makes them happy. But in a Christian worldview, love is not necessarily giving someone what they want. It's giving them what God wants for them.
