Being separated from their children was a sacrifice many of the Windrush Generation experienced, and it's one of the challenges my characters, Cilla and Raef, face. I'll be talking about the theme of emotional trauma but also the power of friendship and the secrets people keep.

I was loudly fat shamed on an American flight. Had to physically defend myself and my friend from the same person. We were held by Brazil Police border control because she accused us of stealing her phone. Missed our flights... and still in shock. How's your day going?
