Despite the massive influx of people and new developments happening to Florida, the Sunshine State still has miles upon miles of old country. You can find it on roads like 301 and 41. #silverlinings

Wait a darn minute. My sister in law just told me to make sure I take all my mosquito shots before I go to Costa Rica in a few weeks. Um...say what? I am vaccine hesitant after covid vaccines and the mrna bs. Please tell me she was joking because I am definitely not taking anything. I will however take mosquito spray. As in OFF. ADVICE?!

If I’m a black athlete I am reconsidering my commitment to UF right now. A school that very publicly takes its queue from its rich landowning alumni as I’ve talked about in the past and plays the race card for political reasons is not a place for elite African-American athletes.
Jason Garcia@Jason_Garcia

I think this is getting very close to becoming true. Over the last few years, Florida's elected leaders have made it clear that they see UF as just another political tool to be used like any other state college or university.

@gbstone2 @Rick_Ferri Take a look at target date funds. They allocate on glide-paths, reducing equity as you near retirement

Another flawed theory about how index funds will crash the stock market comes from the false assumption that 1) boomers will soon sell stocks to fund retirement, and 2) boomers own most of their stock in index funds. Both of these assumptions are flawed.

Top 10% of households own 87% of equities, so the $SPX line and the UMich line aren't measuring the same population. Sentiment captures the median paycheck (savings rate just fell from 6.2% to 4%), the index captures the owner class. The 44.8 print is below every recessionary read on record while the asset side is still compounding.

The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter·
Absolutely incredible: Over the last 6 years, the S&P 500 has risen +130% while US Consumer Sentiment has collapsed by -55%, to its lowest since data began in 1952. We are witnessing the formation of the biggest wealth divide in modern history.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: US Consumer Sentiment officially falls to its lowest level on record in data going back to 1952, down another -10% last month. Consumers now see inflation rising to 4.8% over the next 12 months. This puts the Consumer Sentiment index down -21% since February 2026, before the Iran War. Not even the 1980s saw Consumer Sentiment this low.

@FredtheGerman 2 of 3 degrees were from UF, so yes. But just because you’re an immigrant, doesn’t make your struggles more compelling, or worthy, of mine.

I’m so tired of my alma mater sucking at football, failing to hire competent leadership, and parroting inflammatory MAGA propaganda. 15 years ago I got into UF on an appeal by describing the challenges I overcame as an immigrant. Today they’d throw my letter right into the trash.

.@EDSecMcMahon is correct. DEI is discriminatory by design, antithetical to the purpose of a university, and incompatible with the pursuit of truth. The University of Florida has already acted on that conviction. In December 2025, our Board of Trustees adopted institutional neutrality and embedded an anti-DEI mandate within the presidential contract itself, ensuring that no university funds, public or private, will underwrite DEI at this institution. Dr. Stuart Bell stands with Secretary McMahon, the Board, and the people of Florida on this. He is ready to lead UF forward as a university defined by merit, rigor, and the pursuit of truth.

Considering the anti DEI crusade is about rolling back the civil rights movement, pretty ugly moment for UF to so gleefully jump on board

Kyle Busch died of sepsis caused by pneumonia. I’m sorry, but this makes little to no sense. With the money and access to treatment he had - someone either missed something or misdiagnosed something. How was he so sick with pneumonia that it became sepsis, yet 2 days prior he was kart racing with his kid? If his pneumonia were that far along, would he not have been damn near bed ridden? And what was his team doing letting him race while being that sick to begin with? thegatewaypundit.com/2026/05/nascar…

Washington unanimously legalized scissor stairs, a building code reform that frees up to 56% more living space per floor. Less wasted space means cheaper homes on smaller lots. Most US states banned this since the 1970s for no good reason.

@UF @EDSecMcMahon I’m literally ashamed and embarrassed for family members that graduated from UF. What a travesty! And entire state being formed that is ignorant and racist. DEI is literally about simply trying to provide a level playing field. You inbreds are too dumb to understand it.

Secretary Linda McMahon@EDSecMcMahon

We need bold leaders to reorient higher education toward merit, truth-seeking, and academic rigor. Florida has led the fight to get discriminatory DEI out of our schools and universities. UF deserves a president who will continue to drive those reforms.
