@funkomi Yes, you sweat, lie in bed stinking. I'll stay cool and sound asleep with my AC unit on.

Every single one of these posts… it’s the tyrannical hunk of plastic attached to that massive white tube out of the window. It’s horribly jarring on the eyes, genuinely would rather sweat through my sheets 🙂↔️

Do not understand why people in London don't have one
English

@LittleMermaidKV @TheLaurenChen A mobile AC unit doesn't require planning permission.
English

@TheLaurenChen I don’t think people realise how difficult it can be to install aircons in some old buildings due to brickwork etc. Plus you need planning permission even for only drilling holes into walls in most of London because it’s in conservation area.

I'm so sick of Europeans complaining about the mild heat that they voluntarily subject themselves to
Either get air conditioners or shut up
No Context Brits@NoContextBrits
Americans explaining to Brits how 26 °C (79 °F) isn’t hot while living in air conditioned detached houses made of wood.
English

@abbeylinegold @nickpaganman @Skint_Eastwood1 @Louise_katz Most definitely. I would 100% have my day in court.
English

@Skint_Eastwood1 @Louise_katz Rule 112 of the UK Highway Code states:
‘Your horn should only be used when your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence or danger.’
If I were her I’d challenge it in court.

British Police 2026: Woman Pulled Over on Way to Hospital Appointment for “Inappropriate Use of Horn” 🤦♂️
This is what British policing has come to.
A driver is pulled over on her way to a hospital appointment.
A pedestrian steps out from a junction without looking.
The driver beeps her horn to avoid an accident.
The police then stop her and confirm she is being reported for court over “inappropriate use of horn.”
Driver: “You’re taking me to court because I came in from a junction and a male was crossing the road, didn’t look and I beeped… is that correct?”
Officer: “Yes.”
The officer then reads her the caution before stating: “You’ve been reported for the consideration of prosecution for inappropriate use of horn.”
This isn’t a joke. While violent crime, knife attacks, grooming gangs, thefts, and burglaries continue to plague communities across the country, officers are spending time and resources pursuing a woman for sounding her horn at a careless pedestrian.
When everyday road users trying to drive safely are being dragged toward court for basic defensive actions, but far more serious offences often go under-policed, the public loses confidence in law enforcement.
We need police focused on actual crime, not this.

@chatswithem Invest in a mobile AC unit. They aren't that expensive. Worth every penny.

There is 1 down side to this lovely uplifting weather ....
It's sleeping ..
As houses in the U.K. are designed to retain and trap heat
If only we had cheap and available energy so we could heat and cool our homes accordingly ...it would take all the stress around weather away
But meanwhile
Only have a cotton sheet
Ideally have a cold shower or bath before bed
And get some picnic freeze blocks out of the freezer
Put them at the bottom of your bed or near your back
It's a game changer ❄️ 🙌🏼💙

Honestly, I've yet to see any benefits from leaving the EU. Is it a coincidence that everything is more expensive ! And travel/or living in Europe is more difficult. If we were still part of the EU, Barmy Starmer would have less autonomy to walk roughshod over us. I voted to leave by the way. I think we should rejoin but with a better deal.

@anon_opin Cadbury is American. So that's not happening. Bollocks anyway, tastes fine to me.
English

Why do Americans question how British people speak the English language 🤔
bree@yummierbeefcake
why do british ppl use "arse" instead of "ass" like what is the point im genuinely curious 🥹

@royalfamilyrevd That's a very old photo of Prince William !!! Certainly not last week.
English

William's FUMBLED comments last week re: Taylor Swifts' wedding were basically him putting his foot in it. Their invite has already been accepted. His team is trying to figure out the best media spin to prevent it from looking like he's chasing American celebrity. Not to mention security nightmares.
THE PLAN: turn it into a 'work' trip as the FA president. The UK is set to play in Fifa as late as June 27...a week before the Swift July 3 wedding.
Incidentally, this is why Kate's sudden 'global fact-finding' initiative trip came out of nowhere and much ado has been made about taking her so-called research globally.
They would be ROASTED if they jetted to the US for such frivolity. So if/when she joins William for the wedding, she'll tack on some meaningless visit to a daycare to hug more kids and call it work. Which is why he was so evasive…bc after all that Kate may be a no-show, citing, you guessed it, health reasons.
There was whispers of a Trump visit in there too. They're not announcing that due to political sensitivities. It's one thing to help host the Trumps at Windsor, but to actively go and visit them...That's a stink that will linger.

My daughter was collecting a take out from Dominoes in Rhyl just now. Two ladies from out of area came into the shop to tell her she was being recorded by this man outside in his van. She challenged him, he got out of the van, demanded an apology, the two women were so concerned they took my daughter with them, and when I arrived to collect they came and told me about it.
He’s demanded an apology, said he had a shop on Bodfor Street, as if that matters. Incident reported to the police.
This is now the second time this has happened to her whilst in Rhyl.

@paullewismoney If you're that fucking stupid, you probably wouldn't feel the heat.

@Jenny_1884 I was driving a bus in 1976, melting. I also got married for the second time in July 1976.

@ian4downton @jemmm85517813 I had a brand new Nissan Leaf on lease in August 2024. Cost new around £28/30K. I ended the lease 14 months later and they offered it to me for £11, 500. ,!!
English

@mickeyhynes You can buy an AC unit for half that or less on Amazon.
