@ScotNational You expect us to believe that the way museums operated less than 10 years ago would cause them to close today? 😑

The problem race-and-IQ people have is that, faced with a scientific consensus is that their ideas are pseudoscientific bunk, there are two possible explanations: 1. there's a global conspiracy to conceal the truth by commandeering all academic research 2. they're foul bigots

@Pg13Beauregard @thebaseddweller This entire idea that everyone should know their IQ and that it's some all-important measure of how far you can go in life is complete horseshit. It was designed to identify kids with learning differences who might benefit from additional or alternative instruction.

@pastaloni127 @D2Leaks Yeah, matterspark was novel for about the first half of the first mission and wore out its welcome the first time I couldn't find the hole The relocator has the same problem These aren't interesting puzzles and they detract from what is actually fun about playing the game

Hard to take any of the dlc discourse seriously when people are saying EoF is equal to or worse then Curse of Osiris. It’s bad faith and does nothing to help make an argument against the dlc.

@thebaseddweller IQ doesn't measure anything except your ability to take an IQ test Lots of things are correlated with higher income and have racial disparities, like, well, parent's income for example The fact that "ability to take an IQ test" is also correlated is basically worthless info

I'm confused. Is your stance that the observable disparity between the average IQ of racial groups doesn't exist, that the observable disparity between average outcomes of people with higher and lower IQs doesn't exist, or that both of those things exist but that we couldn't possibly reach any sort of conclusion based on them?

@StatisticUrban @georgeregnery And, when I say "Nashville and Memphis," I mean only the actual metropolitan areas. The suburbs - where the vast majority of people who work in Nashville actually live - are solid red.

Honestly it’s pretty BS the GOP will likely get ~8 seats for free through gerrymandering. In lieu of a far-preferable gerrymandering ban, Dems have to play hardball in their own states to the greatest possible extent. If they win VA, for example, they could draw a safe 8D-3R map

Wow. Justice Sotomayor wrote a chilling dissent: “When the Executive publicly announces its intent to break the law, and then executes on that promise, it is the Judiciary's duty to check that lawlessness, not expedite it.” We should all be alarmed.

@StanSmithsSUV @Victorshi2020 Congress holds the power of the purse. If they pass a law saying the executive will have a Department of Education and appropriate funds for it, the executive can't just refuse to use those funds for that purpose and fire all of the employees.

Yeah, but wrong. Congress doesn’t fire agency employees. (Or do much of anything else that might risk being unpopular or accountable, for that matter.) Nor should it have power to dictate who can / can’t be empoyed by another branch, except Senate advice and consent on appointees.

@Victorshi2020 I voted to fire unaccountable bureaucrats. When someone in D.C. decides I can’t have a gas stove or mandates insane nozzles on gas can, what is my remedy? If POTUS cannot fire anyone in the *executive* branch at will, the answer is I have none. Which is not how our system works.

@realAAAbbott This is not about "funding oversight," it says very plainly: "ICE funding cannot be used to prevent any member of Congress from entering any facility operated by DHS where aliens are held." It's right there, black and white, clear as crystal

@Lafe_Nelson @RepEscobar lol. This section is about funding oversight, not active operations in an emergent . We are in the midst of a national emergency, an invasion. I think we have a bit more to worry about than money. lol.

This week, ICE illegally denied me entry into a processing facility in my district, and today, they released a statement saying I “[gave] the appearance of a political stunt intended to generate publicity rather than pursue genuine oversight.” I have some thoughts.🧵
